🏆 WING ACTIVITIES DAY 2026 — 2ND OVERALL! 🏆

What a weekend for 77 Squadron! ✈️❤️

Wing Activities Day is a points-based competition, testing cadets across a huge variety of skills — from STEM and First Aid to drill, archery and leadership. Coming 2nd overall is something we are incredibly proud of, especially when you look at the breadth of our results. 🥈

These results are a real testament to the varied training programme we work hard to provide at 77. We try to give our cadets experience in every aspect of the Air Training Corps — whilst we may not excel at everything (yet! 😉), our aim is to ensure our cadets have a solid foundation, a basic understanding and the confidence to give anything a go.

And that’s what makes this result so exciting. We get to watch these young people learn, develop, find their strengths and improve — and we cannot wait to see what next year brings! 💙

A huge well done to every cadet who took part. You represented 77 Squadron brilliantly, and we couldn’t be prouder. ❤️

Massively proud of our 77 + Cpl Chandler of 147sqn Wing Activities Day Team for 2026.

Half of PCW wing headed to SMG today to compete in Drill, Banner Drill, Archery, Leadership, First Aid & STEM. The other half of the wing will compete tomorrow and we will eagerly await the results.

Each and every one of you that trained and competed this year has done us incredibly proud and you should all be pleased with yourselves - whatever the outcome.

🏆 CADET OF THE MONTH – AUGUST 🏆

A huge congratulations to Cpl Underwood, who has been awarded our Cadet of the Month for August! 👏

This award recognises Cpl Underwood’s outstanding commitment to community engagement and recruitment, going above and beyond to represent 77 Squadron and support the wider community.

Cpl Underwood was the only cadet to support both days of the WESES Rally, helping us raise an incredible £300 for the squadron. 💙

Commitment like this makes a real difference. Without cadets willing to give up their time and get involved in community events, we simply wouldn’t be able to support the organisations and events that, in turn, support our squadron and help us continue to provide opportunities for our cadets.

Cpl Underwood has demonstrated two of the Air Cadets’ core ethos and values – Service and Excellence – and has set a fantastic example to their fellow cadets.

🏆 Cadet of the Month – July 🏆

A huge congratulations to Cpl Wentworth, who has been awarded our Cadet of the Month for July! 👏

This month, we want to recognise the hard work that often goes unseen — the work happening behind the scenes that makes a huge difference to the squadron.

Cpl Wentworth has played a key role in getting our new IT Suite ready to open, being involved right from the initial planning and research stages through to the final installation work that is now well underway.

His commitment, enthusiasm and willingness to get stuck in have helped bring this project from an idea to something that will soon be ready for our cadets to use. 💻👏

There’s still a little way to go, but we’re now in the final stages before the suite officially opens at our Open Evening on 1st October! 🎉

Well done, Cpl Wentworth — and thank you for all the hard work you’ve put in, much of which happens quietly behind the scenes. It certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed! ⭐

🚨COMMISSION ALERT 🚨

Huge congratulations to APO Davis on her commission! 🎉⭐️

Having joined us as a cadet herself, APO Davis has worked incredibly hard to reach this point and we’re so proud to now welcome her to the CFAV team.

As she begins this exciting new chapter, she’ll be taking on the role of Adjutant at 77 Squadron while she learns all things CFAV and continues developing her skills within the staff team.

From cadet to colleague — what an achievement! 👏🏼

Well done, APO Davis! We can’t wait to see all that you achieve in your new role. 💙✈️

Today is GCSE results day, and we know this can feel like a nervous day for many young people.

You have worked hard for your exams, and this is an important moment to pause, take in your results, and think about your next steps.

Well done for all the effort, time, and commitment you have put in to reach today.

Our cadets are out and about this weekend at the West of England Steam Engine Society Rally at Stithians Showground! 🎪

We’re running the Coconut Shy, so come along, have a go and see if you’ve got what it takes to knock one off! 🥥🎯

It’s a fantastic weekend packed with steam engines, vintage vehicles, tractors, fairground fun and plenty more — and we’ll be there ready to welcome you! 🚜🔥

✈️ A huge thank you! ✈️

A massive thank you to JADLAM for donating a selection of modelling starter kits to our squadron! 🛩️

We’re incredibly grateful for your support and can’t wait to put these kits to good use. They’ll give our cadets the opportunity to develop new skills, learn about aviation and enjoy a hands-on activity along the way.

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to the Air Cadet Charity for awarding us an IT Grant, helping us to further support our cadets with the equipment and opportunities they need to learn, develop and thrive. 💙

Support from organisations like these makes such a difference to what we can offer our cadets, and we genuinely appreciate it.

A huge congratulations to Brazier, who successfully completed Ten Tors as part of the Devon & Somerset Wing team! 🥾⛰️

An incredible achievement that takes determination, teamwork and plenty of grit — something to be seriously proud of.
