Todays meeting… we discussed the St Pirans festival and ideas on how to recruit younger members, if you know of anyone who would be interested feel free to email and come along to the next meeting! There are no strings attached, anyone under 18 is more than welcome to come and try out a meeting!

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our Christmas Toy collection in aid of the foodbank. We managed to fill three huge sacks with gifts!

These have now been collected ready to be sorted and wrapped before being handed out. We know every family and child who receive a toy will be really grateful.

Before our meeting last week, we stopped off at Kresen Kernow to plant some bulbs with the help of Redruth Rotary and the Redruth Town Council Facilities Team.

We planted over 1,000 purple crocus bulbs in support of the Rotary's worldwide campaign to eradicate polio.

Keep an eye out for the flowers next Spring - we're hoping they will look amazing!

PS Please don't forget about our Christmas Toy Collection in aid of the Foodbank. The collection point (at Redruth Civic Centre on Alma Place) will be open until Monday 9th December and we've already had some incredibly generous donations.

On Thursday we had our monthly youth council meeting. We had some visitors today, we had a member of the Redruth Tesco community team come and talk to us about donating to our period product box in the library toilets. We also had two members of the Cornwall youth council come and talk to us about opportunities within the wider youth councils.

This year, we are working with Redruth Rotary to provide a Christmas Toy Collection for our local FoodBank.

The collection point is at Redruth Civic Centre, Alma Place, TR15 2AT (home of Redruth Town Council and Redruth Library & Information Service). Donations will be accepted from now until 9th December.

The Civic Centre is open from 9am to 5pm Monday-Friday and 10am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Please consider contributing a toy - we'd really love to be able to play our part in providing the Foodbank with an amazing donation.

For a long time, we've been discussing what we can do to help eliminate period poverty.

We're very pleased to say that from today, we have made free period products available to visitors to Redruth Civic Centre on Alma Place (home of Redruth Town Council and Redruth Library).

This is just the start and we're hoping to add other locations in future, as well as increasing the products available - watch this space!

Big thanks to those who made donations to help us get this project off the ground.
