📢 Important Update

Over the past two years, 100% of our work has been dedicated to supporting the Armed Forces Community. We therefore felt it was time to update our organisation’s name to fully reflect this commitment.

As of 9th February 2026, Smart Savings CIC officially became Veterans Regroup CIC.

We are incredibly grateful for all the support you’ve given us over the years, and we’re so proud of everything we’ve achieved.

Please note that this page will no longer be updated, but we would love for you to continue following our journey and future work over on our Veterans Regroup page:

Captain James Hall, the commanding officer of RNAS Culdrose, called in this morning to see the work of Veterans Regroup Project, which runs monthly support hubs for veterans and serving personnel and their families.
He is pictured chatting with project director Jane Jiwa, and was joined by Royal Navy chaplain Reverend Father Tom Bakulumpagi at Culdrose Community Centre in Helston.
Captain Hall said: “It’s been very interesting to visit here today and see how these hubs are helping those who have served in the armed forces as well as our serving personnel.
“It’s important that we remember those who have served who may need some extra help in their lives and, and I’ve said this many times, without the support of our families we can’t do our duty to protect the nation.”
Veterans Regroup Project runs monthly events across Cornwall including in Helston, Penzance, Redruth, Truro, Newquay and Liskeard. Each session has representatives from a range of organisations and charities who can offer advice and help. See https://veteransregroup.co.uk.

🎄 Merry Christmas from everyone at Smart Savings and the Veterans Regroup team! 🎄

This festive season, we send our warmest wishes to all veterans, serving personnel, and their families. It is a true privilege to support you, and we sincerely thank you for everything you do.

🎄 Merry Christmas from Veterans Regroup 🎄

This festive season, we send our warmest wishes to all veterans, serving personnel, and their families. It is a privilege to support you, and we thank you for everything you do.

As we reflect on the past year, we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved. In the last six months alone, we’ve had 580 members of the Armed Forces Community visit our Armed Forces Hubs.

We’ve expanded to six monthly hubs across the county, working alongside over 30 statutory and third-sector organisations. We’ve delivered 24 outreach activity days - including cooking, watersports, and cycling, and provided vital one-to-one welfare support.

None of this would be possible without the continued commitment and collaboration of our community.

While we take a short break, please remember: your wellbeing matters, and you are never alone. If you need urgent support, help is available:

📞 NHS Mental Health Response Line
Call NHS 111 and select option 2 (available 24/7) – they’ll listen and help you find the right support.

We’re working with partners across Cornwall and Devon to shape better support for women who have served.

From January 2026, we’ll be running a series of consultations and want to hear from women across Cornwall and Devon who have served. Your experiences will help shape what comes next. We want to understand what is working well locally and where gaps still remain.

This work builds on the ground-breaking toolkit developed by the Female Veterans' Transformation Programme, which highlights systemic challenges alongside examples of best practice.
