Creative Kernow is the creative and cultural sector support organisation for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Creative Kernow has been working with young people in the Camborne community over the past few months to design and create a vibrant new mural in the town centre.

The project was developed around the theme of belonging and inclusion. Students and young people from across the area collaborated with artists Laura Menzies and Lisa Curtis to develop and paint the artwork. The finished mural celebrates creativity, community, and the creative voices of the next generation.

A huge thank you to the fantastic groups who took part: Camborne School, Camborne College, Camborne Cluster of Churches After School Club, Camborne Evening ESOL Classe, and Camborne Youth Council.
Thank you all for your hard work, imagination, and creativity in helping to bring this fantastic project to life!

We’re so proud of what you’ve created together and the wonderful addition it makes to Camborne town centre.

On Monday, we celebrated the launch of the Arts Lab Exhibition as part of RefugeeWeek at ! 🎉
It was wonderful to welcome partners, participants, artists, friends, and supporters to come together and celebrate the inspiring work created through the Arts Lab programme. The exhibition showcases creativity, collaboration, and the powerful stories shared through art.
We are incredibly proud of everyone involved and grateful to all who joined us for this special event.

We’re excited to be part of this year’s Refugee Week with the Arts Lab Art Showcase, celebrating creativity, resilience, and community.

This photo captures a special moment behind the scenes of our young artists in the process of creating their work for the exhibition, guided by printmaker Dena O’Brien and Amanda Loren. From first ideas to final prints, it’s been an inspiring journey of expression and collaboration.

Come along and experience the powerful stories and talents on display throughout the week.

A location meet up suitable for anyone who has a smartphone or a camera from complete beginners to experienced photographers.

Join us in the courtyard at Krowji for 3PM for a special circular photo walk around Redruth with photographer and visual storyteller Abdelrahman Nabahin, as part of our Refugee Week celebrations.

This event is free but you can make a suggested donation of £5
