Join us as we celebrate 80 years of supporting Cornwall's communities.

As Cornwall Rural Community Charity marks its 80th anniversary, we are taking the opportunity to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and recognise the many partners, businesses and organisations that have helped make our work possible.

To mark this milestone, we are delighted to invite you to our 80th Anniversary Charity Gala & Auction at Heartlands, Pool, on Friday 13 November 2026.

Guests will enjoy a welcome drink followed by an exceptional two-course banquet prepared by Duchy Hospitality. The evening will also showcase the talents of young people from our Learn Your Way and Work Your Way programmes, who will be assisting with service as part of their employment and training journey. Each table will receive a complimentary bottle of red and white wine.

The evening will feature live entertainment from the fantastic Mammoth Band, alongside a raffle, silent auction and live auction offering an array of exceptional Cornish prizes, experiences and gifts!

More support, right where you need it.

Your Community Gateway just got even better, it’s now expanding its support across Cornwall.

From finding the right local services and help with benefits, to building confidence, staying connected, improving wellbeing or getting practical support at home, we can work with you to understand what you need and find the right support.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. We start with you, what matters to you and what would make a difference to your life.

Meet Amelia, one of the walkers taking on our 80 Miles for 80 Years challenge this month!

Amelia is one of our Fishing Animateurs, supporting fishermen and fisherwomen across the UK to access grant funding.

"I'm excited to take part in the walk and meet members of the community that have received support from CRCC. The Fishing Animateurs have helped many fishermen and fishing communities across Cornwall to receive grant funding. It's really special to see the difference that our work is making; whether that's a grant for safety equipment for a small-scale fisherman or a harbour pontoon project that will benefit many."

80 years of community, help us make it 80 more.

The countdown is on! 👣

This September, four of our Rural and Coastal team are taking on an 80 Miles for 80 Years challenge - walking 80 miles along the South West Coast Path from Looe to Cadgwith to celebrate our 80th anniversary!

Since 1946, CRCC has worked alongside communities across Cornwall, helping people and places thrive through a wide range of services and projects. Today, we support thousands of people each year through initiatives ranging from carers' support and community transport to rural housing, education and training, environmental projects and support for Cornwall's fishing communities.

The Rural and Coastal team have organised this 80 mile challenge to celebrate this legacy while supporting our future. The team would love your support. Whether you cheer us on along the route, share our journey or make a donation, every contribution makes a difference.

80 years of community, help us make it 80 more. Find out more here: https://cornwallrcc.org.uk/80-miles-for-80-years

This month we had the pleasure of hosting the second Rural Affordable Housing Forum focusing on early steps for supporting housing projects.

If you missed it and would still like to watch it, we have now published the recording (see link below).

The Forum is open to anyone and aims to connect people working to provide affordable homes in Cornwall’s rural and coastal communities. Through quarterly meetings and workshops, three online and one in person, the Forum offers the opportunity to share experience, explore challenges, and highlight examples of good practice. Each session features expert speakers and open discussion, creating a supportive environment where ideas can grow into real projects.

If you would like to stay up to date about our Rural Housing work, you can sign up to the Rural and Coastal newsletter here: https://cornwallrcc.org.uk/sign-up-rc

We also got chance to chat to people about their aspirations for the re-opening of Heartlands. Thanks to our partners at the National Trust for joining us for the day!
