Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum (VSF) exists to connect, support and promote the VCSE sector in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

Cornwall VSF was formed in 1992 when a small group of people came together to discuss issues for the sector in Cornwall. Since then our partner base has grown to connect, support and promote the VCSE communities of Cornwall and Scilly. We are a member of the National Association of Voluntary & Community Action (NAVCA) and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).

It was lovely as always to see so many of our alliance members at our first Collaborative Alliance event of 2026!

The event took place at The Alverton Hotel in Truro earlier this month, bringing together alliance member organisations, community leaders and partners for an afternoon of conversation, challenge and connection.

We were delighted to welcome Sir Stephen Bubb, Executive Director of The Gradel Institute of Charity who shared reflections on the future role of civil society and the importance of charities, communities and social organisations in Cornwall’s growth story.

The afternoon also included a practical AI session led by Marcel Hedman, founder of Nural, exploring what AI means for charities and how the VCSE sector can approach it with both curiosity and caution. The event concluded with reflections from alliance chairs on collaboration, priorities and the themes emerging across Cornwall.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, as well as our speakers and alliance chairs, for facilitating important discussions around celebrating the value of the VCSE sector in Cornwall, exploring how local organisations are already encountering AI, and what this could mean for the future of the sector across the county.

Could someone you know benefit from a relaxing walk at Glendurgan Gardens next month and a chance to bask in the beauty of spring? 🌿

Our partner organisation, Pentreath Ltd, is offering this lovely free wellbeing opportunity in collaboration with Recovery College Cornwall and National Trust.

To book your free place👇

The Recovery College, Pentreath and the National Trust, Glendurgan are working collaboratively to offer another Walk for Wellbeing (This is the second of 3 arranged walks for 2026). This is a free event being held on Tuesday 23rd June, 2026. If you would benefit from a wellbeing walk at Glendurgan, please email the address on the poster. This event is limited to 30 people so please let us know as soon as possible.

The walk is being led by National Trust volunteers who will share their knowledge of the beautiful gardens.

We will meet in the Car Park (Parking is Free) at 10am, with the walk starting at 10:30am. We will then walk through the gardens to the beach. Here, we will stop for refreshments (Free) at the Fish Cellars, before walking back through the gardens and having a go in the maze (if you wish too, not compulsory).

Community health workers don’t just support people - they transform whole systems.

Our new report shows they tackle inequalities, strengthen local health ecosystems, and deliver a £2.33 return for every £1 invested.

Prevention isn’t a slogan - it’s a proven strategy for healthier, fairer communities.

NAPC is proud to highlight the latest Social Return on Investment findings from the Community Health and Wellbeing Worker ( ) programme in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The 2024/25 report shows that for every £1 invested, the programme generates £2.33 in social value. This is a powerful testament to the impact of neighbourhood-based, preventative care.

At a time of rising demand and widening inequalities, CHWWs are supporting residents with complex needs, addressing the wider determinants of health, and helping to build stronger, more resilient communities.

As NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Integrated Care System notes, this approach is not only improving outcomes for individuals but also delivering real value across the health and care system.

And this is just the beginning. As more residents are engaged and more CHWWs are recruited, the social return is expected to grow year on year.

✅ Prevention in action
✅ Community-led support
✅ Real value for investment

The People in Mind partners, joined by some talented local musicians, braved the elements and the cold yesterday on Lemon Quay in Truro for Mental Health Awareness Week. 🎶

Teams from The CHAOS Group, Cornwall Mind and Young People Cornwall spent the day talking with local people and the guest musicians about the positive impact music can have on our mental health, emotions, and wellbeing.

Today, you can catch a snapshot of some of the interviews recorded throughout the week with partners from across Cornwall on CHAOS Radio. They’ll also be joined live this morning by our wonderful Kelly, who manages the People in Mind programme at VSF.

Looking after our mental health is often easier when we feel connected to others.

Today we’re sharing Cornwall Mind's Supportive Minds groups, which are running in communities across Cornwall as part of their ongoing work to support mental health and wellbeing.

These welcoming groups offer safe spaces for people to connect, build confidence and reduce isolation.

We’re proud to count Cornwall Mind as one of the core delivery partners in our People in Mind programme, helping create more opportunities for people to access support closer to home.
