In recognition of World Cancer Day the Cancer Nurses and wider team are celebrating the day once again by walking from Crawley Hospital to East Surrey Hospital on 8th February 2026, finishing at the Macmillan Centre to help raise awareness of our local cancer services.



This year the theme marks the second chapter of the United by Unique campaign. Our focus on people-centred care that reflects the needs, values and lived experiences of individuals and families. To highlight what it means to see the person before the patient, enabling people living with cancer to actively participate in their care. We acknowledge that cancer can turn people’s lives upside-down and in recognition of this SASH staff and those affected by cancer will be having their photo taken upside-down! Every experience with cancer is unique, and it will take all of us, united, to create a future where everyone is seen, heard and supported. So we are keen to share stories and raise awareness of the cancer care given locally.

Tuesday 27th January marks the 10 year anniversary of East Surrey Macmillan Centre! We will celebrate later this year with a Summer Party, but if you would like to pop in for a cup of tea and a biscuit on 27th January please do, we would love to see you!
