An excellent turn out for the 2nd Reigate AGM last term. With many awards received including 3 Chief Scout Silver Awards, a Wood badge for Kaa and The district Helping Hands Award for Jude.

2nd Reigate beavers enjoyed an excellent forest school session with Rebecca from Rebecca Winslade last term. Including:

💚 Stick tapping in a circle for concentration and rhythm to introduce thenselves.

🌳 Investigating deciduous and evergreen trees with a game.

🪾 Using peelers with Kukubura and Wren to create hazel wood gnomes.

📿 Using a bow saw with Rebecca to saw and make disc necklaces.

🏕 Free play, exploring the woodland and swinging in the hammocks.

Last term 14 brave 2nd Reigate Explorers took on the mammoth task of clearing the cemetery and creating an eco habitat for our local St John's Church.

It was a cold and blustery evening, but made for a welcome change of scenery from revision.

🪱 🪲 They removed a huge amount of trees, bushes and brambles from the east side of the cemetery and used it to create an eco habitat on the south side. 🪦 They even unearthed some long lost gravestones and memorials along the way!

2nd Reigate camp life, cowboy & cowgirl style 🐎

Yeehaw! Our 2nd Reigate 'Wild West' Group Camp took place over the weekend.

But this ain’t our first rodeo 🐴 Our trusty ol' team of volunteers, young and old, worked hard to turn an empty field into cowboy camp headquarters.

Join us THIS SATURDAY (16th May), for a first look at Earlswood 2nd Reigate Scout Group's plans for our new HQ!

After 10 years of fundraising, and with thanks to Reigate & Banstead CIL funding for an extra boost to the pennies - we are finally in a position to rebuild our somewhat dilapidated HQ.

📍 Find us on.the corner of Earlswood Road and Brighton Road next to Art Matters, 10am - 1pm.

👀 Have a nose around our HQ, which was built in 1931 and barely been updated since then.

⚜️ Learn about Earlswood 2nd Reigate Scout Group's history. Founded in 1908, we are one of the oldest Group's in the world!

☕️ Stay for a cuppa and look at our plans to develop a new HQ in-keeping with the area, and ask any questions.

Hope to see you there! If people are keen we might run a couple of evening sessions next week too.

Behind every brilliant community event is a small army of volunteers in neckers, hi-vis, and sensible shoes 💚

From setting up gazebos and running games, to litter picking, MC-ing, traffic marshalling and keeping the beer flowing, the 2nd Reigate Leaders, Parents, Young People, and Volunteers helped make the Earlswood Carnival such a special day for the community.

This is scouting in action: teamwork, confidence, community spirit, problem-solving… and helping drink the beer! 🍻

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who gave their time, energy and smiles to support the event. Earlswood wouldn’t be the same without you. 🙌

Ahead of Saturdays Earlswood Carnival, I just wanted to give a HUGE shout out to our Earlswood based sponsor - Respirex.

Based on the industrial estate behind Daveys, They manufacture high end PPE for the NHS, emergency services, the petro-chemical industry etc. Very cool 🙌

Last year they set up an amazing twist on a tin can alley, using a decontamination shelter! See video below 👇

STEP 1
Form a team of max 8 people. Age 18+ and age 12-17 years old categories.

📍 The Earlswood Carnival takes place on Saturday 25th April, 2-5pm. But the Tug of War event is 2.50 - 3.20pm. Find us on Woodlands Road Green in Earlswood (RH1 6EY)
