Armed Forces Day

On Saturday, Cadets and Staff from 135, along with 66, 450 and 285 Squadrons, took part in a parade at Kenley in celebration of Armed Forces Day!

VE80 Celebrations

On Friday, 135 had a 40s themed night in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day!

The cadets started the night with a WW2 themed escape room, which was followed by a street party which was enjoyed by all the cadets and staff!

A massive thank you to CI Smith who spent lots of time planning and setting up the night for everyone to enjoy!

6 AEF flying allocation

Today 4 of our cadets, along with cadets from , visited RAF Benson in Oxfordshire today for flying allocations with 6 AEF!

All cadets came away happier than ever, all wanting to go again. Special thank you to the pilots and staff at who made today’s visit possible!

Reigate & Banstead Mayor’s Cadet
Appointment

Tonight at 135, we had the honour of welcoming Mayor Elect Rich Michalowski to Squadron Headquarters, who, along with Plt Off Taffurelli-Hutchings, conducted interviews for the Reigate & Banstead Mayor’s Cadet 2025 and we are very pleased to say that Sgt Kilbride was appointed in the role on final parade!
Congratulations to Sgt Kilbride and a well done to all those who applied! A special thank you as well to the Mayor Elect for visiting 135!

Dining In Night 2025

On Friday night, 135 Cadets, CFAV and Civilian Committee left Squadron HQ to attend our annual Dining In Night, allowing all to take part in a tradition seen throughout the RAF and British Armed Forces where the staff serve the cadets dinner, reflect on the year just gone and look to the year ahead(all of which was then followed by a disco)!

YFA & AFA Courses

Over the weekend, 135 hosted and ran both a YFA and a AFA Course for Cadets and CFAVs from around , which saw 23 pass the YFA and 16 pass the AFA!

Well done to everyone who attended and a special thank you to the Cadet NCOs from , and for the assistance with the YFA!

CAE Gatwick

On Tuesday, 135 were fortunate to have a visit of the CAE Gatwick Training Facility, where our Cadets had a career talk, took part in initiative exercises, a full tour and demonstration of the safety training their Pilots and Cabin Crew have to go through and a chance to have a go on their flight simulator, as the cadets simulated landing into London Gatwick!

We would like to thank everyone at CAE for this opportunity and CI Munson, who is currently training himself, for organising this visit and wish him and his colleagues the best of luck in their training…. And hope to see more 135 Cadets training there in the future!

Annual Formal Inspection 2024

Busy night at 135 on Friday as we welcomed parents and carers to the Squadron, along with the Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, Rebecca Paul MP, Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Reigate & Banstead to our Annual Formal Inspection.

The night saw an inspection of the cadets by the Lord-Lieutenant and the Mayor, followed by awards being given out, badges and promotions! Our guests also got to enjoy a performance from the band and hear the highlights of the year from Flt Lt Locke.

Thank you to all those that attended and congratulations to the cadets for another eventful and successful year at 135!
