Lady N embraced the 1960 Theme at our 10th Anniversary Celebrations.

This is what Re-engage Charity in Redditch & Bromsgrove is all about, combating social isolation and loneliness amongst older people and putting smiles on their faces!

It is hard to believe that Re-engage Charity in Redditch & Bromsgrove held its very first Tea Party 10 years ago!

What a journey it has been! Our first Tea Party took place with just 4 older guests. The demand to join our Tea Parties grew rapidly and within 18 month we were hosting Tea Parties for 50 older guests.

Over the 10 years we have raised 25K which has enabled us to organise some wonderful trips/events for our older guests. Many, many magical moments!

We could not have achieved what we have done without the support of our volunteer hosts and drivers and the generosity of the local community!

Here is to the next 10 years!

On Sunday, three Re-engage Tea Parties took place across for the Re-engage Charity in Redditch & Bromsgrove groups.

It was lovely to see lots of laughter and chatter amongst our older guests.

Whilst driving a guest home from one of the Tea Parties, she laughed and said:

'I am so sorry for chatting so much this afternoon, it is just that as I am alone most of the time, I do not get to talk with anyone'

It is wonderful to seeing our older guests enjoying themselves.

Such a humbling feel good factor to see our ladies of Re-engage Charity in Redditch & Bromsgrove having such a fabulous time yesterday.

As we get older, our social circles diminish, and we find ourselves with fewer and fewer people to turn to. Imagine realising one day that all your friends and family have gone from your life. Loneliness can be cruel, and it affects millions of people over 75 who live in social isolation.

Re-engage is about bringing lonely and isolated people (over 75) together to share experiences and form lasting friendships.

The story of the Redditch and Bromsgrove Groups began in 2016. We started with just 3 guests and at our peak (pre-covid) ran 5 groups and had 50 guest attend our monthly Tea Parties. We now run 3 groups with 25 guests.

Wouldn't it be great to celebrate our 10th anniversary by having the resources to organise a Summer Party for our guests, volunteer drivers and hosts.

Today we held our annual post Christmas Party for our elderly guests of Re-engage Charity in Redditch & Bromsgrove at The Tardebigge

What a fantastic afternoon we had. There was a lot of eating, chatting, laughing, singing, swaying and dancing! So lovely to see our guests smiling and having a fantastic time.
Doreen enjoyed her wheelchair dance!!

All of out guests live alone, they count down the days to our monthly events. The monthly Afternoon Tea Parties are a lifeline for our lovely ladies (unfortunately, as much as we would like, we do not have any gentlemen in our groups).

Thank you to Gail Stone and Vicky Hadley for organising this amazing party, our volunteer drivers for ensuring our guests arrived at the party and safely returned home, The Tardebigge Pub for great food and Ella Mai Holmes for entertaining us - you were amazing!

A short 'breather' and then it is time to start fundraising for our next event. If anyone can help with our fundraising/donating, we would love to hear from you.

Volunteering to support the older community in and continues to provide Alan Stefan Wodzynski and I immense personal satisfaction.
