Getting Involved
This world record attempt is a great way to drive greater awareness and action for the plastic pollution problem. To help us set it, we’re asking people to make a Pledge online specifically on July 1 2026.
Many people take the Pledge together as a group – with colleagues, schoolmates, friends, family, or members of their community. This makes it easier to stay inspired throughout the month, with the ability to discuss ideas and solutions as you go.
People can submit one pledge for as many individuals as they like, and each person will be counted towards the world record attempt.

Plastic food packaging
Single-use water bottles

Together, the small actions we take together on July 1 will add up to a big global difference. We’re excited to see the impact and ripple impact that this global moment can have.
