We’re really proud to share the first THRIVE Impact Report for 2024–2025 🙌 and we're working on the next one!

THRIVE is a partnership in Redcar and Cleveland bringing together WithYou, Harbour Support Services and Intuitive Thinking Skills working alongside Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council and Recovery Connections.

Together, we support people facing challenges around domestic abuse, substance use, and behaviour change.

Here’s a snapshot of what we achieved that year:

• Reached 951 people (up from 872 the previous year)
• 83% of people we supported created a safety plan around their drug and alcohol use
• 78% said they felt safer after getting support

These numbers represent real people and real change, and show what’s possible when organisations work together to support local communities 💜

Last month, THRIVE ambassador, Aaron took on something truly special - a coastal walk spanning nearly 15 miles from Staithes to Redcar to raise money for WithYou and Harbour Support Services🌊

We’re so proud of Arron for taking on this incredible challenge, and even stopping to chat to BBC Tees.

THRIVE ambassador, Arron took on an incredible challenge last month — walking nearly 15 miles from Staithes to Redcar along the stunning Cleveland Way.

But this wasn't just about the miles.

The date marked one year in his recovery. Over the past year, Arron faced some really difficult experiences, and with the right support, has been able to rebuild and move forward.

This walk was Arron’s way of saying thank you and giving back to the organisations that supported him through that journey: WithYou and Harbour Support Services (part of the THRIVE partnership across Redcar and Cleveland).

Every step he took was for recovery, support, and hope. We're so proud of you, Arron. 🙌

Keen to learn more about THRIVE?

Our head of service, Stacey together with Olivia from Harbour Support Services and Sarah from Intuitive Thinking Skills discuss how the the collaborative THRIVE partnership model supports people and especially women, facing overlapping challenges such as domestic abuse, substance use, homelessness, and trauma.

THRIVE is a unique model delivered in partnership with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, working closely with Recovery Connections.

Together, they shared how integrated, trauma‑informed support is reshaping outcomes across Redcar and Cleveland.

Our Redcar & Cleveland service has expanded into the Grangetown area! We're able to help more clients where they are and increase access to free, confidential, and non‑judgemental help across the area.

The building at Barbara Bowater House on Kingsley Road, Grangetown (TS6 7PW) is now fully open to clients and is in addition to our High Street service in Redcar.

The building hosts:

- One‑to‑one support for adults and young people
- Naloxone supply (a life-saving medication that reverses opioid overdoses)
- Group sessions and workshops
- Drop‑ins for anyone wanting advice or information
- Space to work alongside our partners including Harbour Support Services, Intuitive Thinking Skills and Recovery Connections

This Women’s History Month, let’s shine a light on the unique barriers women face when seeking support for drug and alcohol use.
From stigma and fear of judgment to practical challenges like childcare and transportation, these obstacles can make reaching out for help feel overwhelming, even impossible.
Here’s how we can make a difference 💡
As a society, we have a responsibility to create an environment where stigma no longer stands in the way of women getting the support they need. It should never be women’s burden to face or overcome stigma alone - it’s up to all of us to come together and dismantle it.
Together, we can create real, lasting change.
