We’re BBQ-ing at Classics! 🍔

Come and find us to support our new hut fundraising, as well as helping nearly 100 local young people to enjoy scouting in the village!

After this mornings card machine woes, we’re finally running at full capacity, cash or card accepted!

Priory Scouts were on camp over the weekend, working on their survival skills badge 🏕️

They built their own tarp shelters, worked on their skills with knives, axes and saws, cooked all their meals over the fire without utensils, and learned about how to seek help in a survival situation!

The Group had a great day at Redbourn Festival yesterday! Fantastic to be a part of such a well supported community event

Our Scouts were teaching some fire lighting skills, and running some ‘minute to win it’ challenges!

Well done to everyone who gave it a go, see the final leaderboards in the pictures 🏆

The Beavers enjoyed a visit to Redbourn Fire Station last night!

They learned about the jobs that the fire service can help with, when to call for help and what to do in a house fire

After that they got to have a tour of the fire engine and check out the hoses! 🚒👩‍🚒

Over the weekend our Beavers were camping at Beavers in Tents at Well End campsite! ⛺️

They got up to all sorts - climbing, archery, trampolining, crazy golf, cooking on fires, camp crafts, and plenty more!

Well done Beavers - we hope it was a fantastic first (or second!) night away of many in their scouting journeys!

Both Scout troops have been out on the water this week, trying out some paddleboarding!
They all enjoyed plenty of time both on and in the water!

Priory Scouts had an investiture at the end of their session yesterday, and were also very pleased to award Eadie with her Chief Scout’s Gold award, after several years with the Troop!

Welcome Thomas and well done Eadie! 👏

Happy Volunteers Week!

Scout groups across the world rely on volunteers to help offer exciting, adventurous, and varied programmes to our young members - and for this we can’t thank them enough! 👏

At 1st Redbourn we currently run Beavers (6-8yrs), Cubs (8-10.5yrs) and Scouts (10.5-14yrs), and are hoping to start a Squirrels section (4-6yrs) too!

We’re currently looking for people to join our existing Leader teams across all our sections, as well as our fundraising team.

So if you’re interested in trying something new, enjoying the outdoors, becoming more engaged in your local community, or developing some new skills yourself, just get in touch - we’d love to have you on board! ⚜️

Priory Scouts were completing some volunteer work at St Luke's School, Redbourn this weekend, tasked with clearing a disused area of the site in preparation for further developments as part of the school’s ongoing cafe project

The Scouts did a great job, working all day (with some rests!) to clear the area, managing to fill two big skips with what we removed!

We also enjoyed meeting some of the animals on site, as well as a campfire and some games out on the school field in the evening

Great work Scouts 👏

We are very proud to share that one of our own, Angelo, has achieved his King’s Scout Award!

On Sunday he was a part of this year’s Day of Celebration and Achievement at Windsor Castle, alongside all the other KSA recipients from the past year!

The King’s Scout award is the top award available to young people within Scouts, and takes several years of dedication and hard work to achieve.

As well as undertaking 12-18 months of a physical activity, a new skill, voluntary work, and two 4-day expeditions, award recipients must also complete 6 activities on international, community, and values themes, and complete at least 24 nights away with Scouts.

Angelo has been with 1st Redbourn since Beavers, and more recently has been a Young Leader in the Cub section, and is now continuing to volunteer his time within Scouting as a Leader.

Congratulations Angelo! 👏 You are a fantastic role model for our younger members, long may your passion and dedication continue on your journey in Scouts
