Food4Families Reading We support a network of community gardens across Reading to engage the local community and get local people growing.

We run courses, workshops, events for families and HAF days. We run the project & are a part of .org.uk We help local people to grow food sustainably in their homes, schools and across our network of Community gardens in Reading. We aims to enable local people to manage land in their own neighbourhoods for the sustainable growing of food, encourage healthier eating and lifestyle habits and develop an understanding of the broader environmental, cultural and economic aspects of sustainable food production. 🌿 Hello from the Your Nook Your Say local community with Nature Nurture 💚
We had a wonderful evening exploring what’s happening at Holy Brook Nook, hearing from residents and community facilitators.
Beth and Philippa from took us on a tour of the community garden, showcasing all the fruit and veg growing in the beds 🍓🥬 Nigel shared insights into the conservation work for our Look After The Nook sessions, including a walk to the back of the Nook where the beautiful hazel fence is taking shape thanks to our amazing conservation volunteers 🌱
also shared the fantastic progress of the current mural at the Reading Bike Hub, giving residents a glimpse of where it will be installed 🎨
Of course, there was cake, tea, and even fresh mint tea from the veg beds 🍰🍵 It was a real celebration of how the project is evolving and even the rain held off!
Thank you to all the residents who came along 🙌 If you couldn’t make it, we’d love to welcome you to the next event for more tea, cake, and good company.

We will be holding another volunteering day on Friday 10th April from 2 til 5pm. Plenty of jobs to do to tidy up the allotment.

Come and help Whitley Whitley Growallot prepare the garden for spring

We will be holding a volunteering day on Tuesday 17th February.

You can come along any time between ten am and three pm and stay as long as you like.

The aim of the day is to prune our fruit trees and prepare the site for the spring growing season.

We have a limited number of loppers secateurs etc. Please bring along your own pruning tools and gloves.

Hot drinks will be provided.
