FAITH & VINCENT’S MINISTRY REPORT:
ReadiFood Food Bank.

​Guided by 35-year veteran Vincent, Faith the Bear has completed her very first official field report! Today, the duo caught up with Truth on the warehouse floor to see how ReadiFood serves our local community.
​Truth explained that ReadiFood is a delivery-only service for emergency food parcels. Rather than operating as a walk-in food bank, our delivery vans take essential food packages directly to the doorsteps of households in crisis right across Reading.

​While inspecting the crates and sorting areas, Faith and Vincent brought a list of pressing questions for Truth:

​🍑 1. The #1 Most Needed Items: Tinned Fruit & Tinned Veg!
​Truth explained that while all food donations are deeply appreciated, tinned fruit and tinned vegetables are always our highest-need items.

​🍪 2. The Great Biscuit Fact-Check!
​Vincent and Faith couldn't visit a warehouse full of food without asking about the biscuit situation:
​📦 Most Donated: Digestives, Rich Tea, and Custard Creams.
​☕ Total Consumed: Packing over 100 emergency parcels a week means ReadiFood goes through hundreds of biscuit packs every week!

​🚚 APPEAL — WE NEED TO REPLACE ONE OF THE VANS!
​Because ReadiFood is entirely delivery-based, our vans work hard on the road every single day. During their tour, Faith and Vincent were interested to learn that we need to replace one of our aging vans to keep our drivers moving and food reaching families in need.

​Faith's Verdict: "Truth and the team do a heroic job sorting crates, packing parcels and delivering across Reading. But without working vans, a delivery-only service simply can't function! Replacing our van will make sure no family in Reading is left waiting for essential food."

We are getting ready for our visit from the Dynamic Duo today.

The Dynamic Duo Supporting Reading!

​When Faith the Bear joined our ministry in July, she had no idea how busy life would be, or how much caffeine and biscuits she'd need to consume to learn Vincent's 35 years of knowledge, stories, facts, figures, and wisdom—meaning our staff have had to do many trips to the local shop to get more biscuits!

​Poor Faith has had many long days, lots of information, and plenty of prayer to get her up to speed and did we mention the biscuits !! Guided by prayer and plenty of teamwork, this veteran and the rookie are joining forces to support the town of Reading as our ministries continue to grow in His service.

​Next up, Vincent and Faith will be meeting face-to-face with each ministry mascot bear to get the facts of what's really happening in their area.

Next time you're in the supermarket aisle picking up washing-up liquid, please grab a second bottle for ReadiFood. We have completely run out, and for a struggling family, the cost of basic cleaning supplies is often the first thing cut.

Did you know that we're run by FAITH Christian Group, alongside ReadiFood Food Bank, our nine local pantries, and Readicook. Faith Christian Group also runs ReadiStreet (feeding the homeless and vulnerable 5 times a week in Reading Town Centre) and A Bed for the Night (our winter night shelter).
​This Saturday is World Homeless Day, and we'd love to connect with you! 🤝
​Wendy, who runs our ReadiStreet ministry, and a couple of other staff members will be outside Marks & Spencer on Broad Street in Reading between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
They will be there face-to-face to chat about what we do, why we do it, and how you can help and support us. Whether you want to learn more, ask questions, or just say hello, Wendy and the team would love to see you there!

As harvest festival season is in full swing, donations are starting to arrive from local schools, churches, and our wonderful community. A massive, huge thank you to everyone who has been donating—we are so deeply grateful for your generosity!
​We are just as thankful for our wonderful volunteers, who have been busy helping with extra shifts and extra hours. They've been dropping off empty crates to schools and churches, picking up harvest donations from various venues, and sorting every single item that comes through the door into our warehouse.
​To our amazing donors and our tireless volunteers—what absolute superstars!
