What is Reading SOUP? How does Reading SOUP event work?

Reading SOUP is a community-focused crowdfunding project, aimed at bringing the people of Reading together to support positive ideas and projects that benefit the community. People pay £5 entry. Three or four Community Projects Pitch to the crowd about their work. The crowd vote for their favourite Projects. Then the Community Project with the most votes wins all of the door money. At each event w

e have Live Music performed by guest musicians, Art on display from local artists and delicious SOUP (hence the name) prepared by our gifted SOUP Chefs. We also have One Minute Plugs where any one can talk to the crowd about their given cause for one minute. Want to get involved? What is Reading SOUP?

Reading Soup is a grassroots, community fundraising organisation, and we supports community projects in the Reading area. We’re inspired by the original Detroit SOUP, and are run by a committee of five volunteers. We hold fundraising dinners in Reading every other month.
