Another beautiful day and we’re back at the University of Reading for the Jobs Fest. Students can find out how volunteering for scouts can boost their cv and grow the skills and experience that employers are looking for. All whilst having fun!

Launchpad: www.launchpadreading.org.uk have invited Scout Groups across Berkshire to get involved in the Sleep Out to help young people gain their Community Impact staged badges.

Launchpad are happy to attend Beaver, Cub, Scout & Explorer sessions to explain more about the work that they do and how their support is helping in the local community.

What a great day we had at the University of Reading Freshers Fair 2026! So many fantastic potential volunteers, including lots of young leaders and scouters who have relocated to study. Cannot wait to get everyone connected with a local team so they can start/ continue supporting young people to gain

1st Cippenham Cubs enjoyed a fantastic evening out taking part in the Trunks Across the Thames Elephant Art Trail, where they successfully tracked down 13 of the beautifully decorated elephant sculptures across Windsor and Eton. 🐘

The challenge was about much more than finding elephants. Throughout the evening, the Cubs worked together as a team, developed their navigation skills, built confidence, and showed great determination. It was a fun-filled adventure that everyone will remember.

We’re delighted to share that, thanks to the generosity of our parents and supporters, we raised £65 for Thames Hospice. The charity provides compassionate care and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families, making a real difference in our local community. This has just come in from Maidenhead Scouts Kaizen Explorers who have recently enjoyed an adventure-filled, adrenaline-packed, and culturally insightful camp in Cornwall.
