Our August edition of Look After the Nook was a busy one! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’ช

With Adrianโ€™s expert guidance, our brilliant volunteers worked together to clear brambles and nettles from the back of Holy Brook Nook, creating space for the bulbs to come back next spring and for wildflowers to flourish again next summer. ๐ŸŒผ

Our friendly regular volunteers were joined this month by a fantastic team from , who really got stuck in and worked incredibly hard.

We canโ€™t thank all our volunteers enough. Their time, energy and care are helping to transform Holy Brook Nook into a thriving little slice of nature in the heart of urban Reading. ๐Ÿ’š

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made such a difference, and to The National Lottery Community Fund and Reading Council for funding our work at Holy Brook Nook and helping this special place flourish for both people and wildlife.

What a fabulous evening with the local community at Holy Brook Nook for our August edition of Your Nook, Your Say! ๐ŸŒฟ

Held on 5 August, and happening every three months, these get-togethers are a chance to share whatโ€™s been happening at the Nook, hear ideas and make sure the local community continues to help shape this wonderful slice of urban nature.

This time we caught up on our recent Otterly Wild Day, tours of the new mural by Commando Jugendstil, updates from Look After the Nook, Grow at the Nook and Pop Up and Play.

We shared, we listened, and, most importantly, we heard from local residents about what they would like to see happen next.

Look out for the next Your Nook, Your Say and come along to have your say about the future of Holy Brook Nook.

A huge thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund and Reading Council Council for helping make all of this possible. ๐Ÿ’š

Today we were delighted to be asked by Professor Tom Oliver, Professor of Applied Ecology at the University of Reading, and the wonderful team at Fleeting Year Films to feature in their documentary.

On a glorious sunny day at Holy Brook Nook, the Nature Nurture crew got stuck into conservation tasks for the cameras, showcasing how nature connection can happen right in the heart of urban communities.

Weโ€™re so pleased to be part of the film and canโ€™t wait to see how it all comes together! ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŽฅโ˜€๏ธ
