Berkshire ACF Proudly Represented at Lord Lieutenant's Garden Party

Sgt Emily Rees and SSgt Mark Eaton recently represented Berkshire ACF at the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire's annual Garden Party, celebrating the volunteers and organisations that make a positive difference across the Royal County.

Held at the beautiful Stanlake Park Wine Estate, the event brought together volunteers from a wide range of charities, community groups and youth organisations. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the people who give their time to support others and strengthen their communities.

We're proud of Emily and Mark for representing Berkshire ACF and the many Cadet Force Adult Volunteers who help young people develop confidence, resilience and leadership skills every week.

👏 WELL DONE 18 TROOP WINDSOR! 👏

Cadets from 18 Troop raised an impressive £768 while supporting the Polo for Heroes Charity Tournament at Fifield Polo Club, Windsor, on 30 May.

With temperatures soaring throughout the day, the cadets worked tirelessly to support the event, engaging with members of the public and helping to raise additional funds for a fantastic cause through their own efforts.

The Polo for Heroes Charity Tournament raises funds to support injured servicemen and women through recovery initiatives, expeditions and equine therapy, while also supporting military charities.

As well as supporting a worthy cause, the cadets had the opportunity to meet serving personnel, veterans and volunteers from other counties, gaining valuable experience and representing Berkshire ACF with professionalism and enthusiasm throughout.

Event organisers were full of praise for the cadets and the positive impression they made on everyone they met.

A fantastic effort from all involved and a great example of Army Cadets making a difference in the community.

🌟 VOLUNTEERS' WEEK SPOTLIGHT 🌟

Meet Sgt Emily Rees, Detachment Commander of 15 Platoon, Theale.

Sgt Rees began her Army Cadet journey as a cadet before becoming an Adult Volunteer almost five years ago. Today, she leads a thriving detachment where young people are encouraged to challenge themselves, develop confidence and build friendships that last a lifetime.

For Sgt Rees, one of the most rewarding parts of volunteering is seeing young people grow and succeed.

"It’s regular to see once shy 12-year-olds blossom into confident, mature young adults who are ready for their next challenge in life."

In May, Sgt Rees successfully completed her Adult Leadership and Management (ALM) qualification, continuing her own development while helping others achieve their potential.

HAPPY VOLUNTEERS' WEEK

This week we are celebrating the incredible Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) who give their time, energy and commitment to support young people across Berkshire.

Whether they are running training nights, teaching fieldcraft and first aid, leading adventurous activities, supporting camps, driving minibuses, managing administration, or simply being a positive role model, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

Behind every successful detachment night, exercise, competition and camp is a team of dedicated volunteers giving up their spare time to help young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, make lasting friendships and achieve things they never thought possible.

To every volunteer across Berkshire ACF – thank you. Your enthusiasm, patience and dedication make a genuine difference to the lives of our cadets and help make Berkshire ACF the thriving organisation it is today.

If you've ever thought about volunteering, there has never been a better time to get involved. No military experience is required – just enthusiasm, commitment and a desire to help young people succeed. Full training and support are provided.
