Last night was one for the books 🎤✨

Valley Aloud hit the stage at Manchester Opera House for The Choir of Man… and we didn’t just watch — we were right in the thick of it - can you spot us in the video? From soaking up the electric atmosphere to stepping into the spotlight ourselves, being part of a 300 strong choir. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

The highlight? Joining the incredible cast to perform a specially arranged version of Chandelier — and yes, it was just as powerful and spine-tingling as it sounds. Singing side by side, feeling the energy of the crowd, and being part of something so big… that’s what Valley Aloud is all about.

🎵Meet Barbara…………one of our Sopranos

“It all began for me some 16 years ago when Sally Bromley, who I knew from our mutual interest in Amateur Dramatics, told me that her son Grant was setting up a choir. I told Sally that I couldn’t read music but she assured me I just needed to enjoy singing. I nervously went along to the first rehearsal in a Methodist chapel in Rossendale and straight away I was made to feel welcome and soon began chatting to other nervous beginners, many of them to become lifelong friends.

Being a member of Valley Aloud is like having a second family. Yes, people come and go for various reasons, but the core of the choir remains strong and there is always someone to talk to or help you if needed.

Some of the choir members are often involved in Grant’s other passion – the theatre. Some of us have played roles where we have had to sing solos, something that I would never have thought possible for me when I joined but such is the confidence that Grant and the choir have instilled in me.

I can’t wait for the next 16 years!”
