Relay For Life Rossendale Relay For Life celebrates community fundraising in the fight to beat cancer. You can help by entering a team either in Rossendale or at your local event.

Teams of friends, families & colleagues fundraise for research to save and improve lives, & unite as a community to honour everyone affected by cancer & celebrate the progress Relay for Life Rossendale is a CRUK team event, held at Marl Pits Rawtenstall each year. Our 2019 event raised over £32k mainly through the fund raising efforts of the teams involved. After a two year COVID break we are loo

💜 THANK YOU, RAWTENSTALL! 💜

What an incredible weekend! Thanks to the generosity of Tesco Rawtenstall customers, together we raised an amazing £625.86 for Cancer Research UK.

Thank you to Emma the community champion from Tesco Rossendale, Our Community Matters for her fantastic support, and to everyone who stopped by our stall, had a go on the tombola, made a donation, or simply stopped to chat with us.

One of the things we value most about our collections is the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people from our community. This weekend was no exception. We heard countless stories of strength, courage, loss, survival, and hope from people whose lives have been touched by cancer in one way or another.

While we are always grateful that people trust us enough to share their experiences, every story is a reminder of why we continue to fundraise. The reality is that cancer affects far too many lives. As much as we appreciate hearing these stories and taking the time to connect with people, our hope is that one day there will be fewer of them to tell.

Every donation, every ticket bought, and every conversation helps bring us one step closer to that future.

We’re back Tesco Rawtenstall today for our final day of fundraising and raising awareness for Relay For Life Rossendale! 💜

Alongside our fundraising activities, we’ve also set up a Cancer Awareness Stand beneath the community notice board. The stand will remain there for anyone who may wish to access information, advice, or support literature at a time that suits them.

Whether you’re looking for information for yourself, a loved one, or simply want to learn more, please feel free to help yourself to any of the leaflets and resources 💜

💜 A huge thank you to Shania Boyes from Tesco Accrington for her incredibly generous donation towards our fundraising efforts.

This week has completely blown us away. The support we’ve received has been amazing, and we are so grateful for the kindness and generosity shown.

We would also like to say a massive thank you to all of the Community Champions from Bury, Rossendale and Accrington Tesco stores. Your support, encouragement, and donations are helping us make a real difference, and we truly couldn’t do it without you.

Not only are we turning Tesco Haslingden purple to celebrate the weekend, we’ll be turning Rawtenstall purple this weekend too! 💜

A huge thank you to Emma Bailey from Tesco Rossendale, Our Community Matters for the amazing tombola donations and support. She has started turning the store purple with balloons already and we may even get her into a purple tutu and wig tomorrow 😉

The support and generosity we receive from our Tesco Community champions is greatly appreciated.

We can’t wait to see everyone over the next 2 weekends starting tomorrow Tesco, Rawtenstall and wrapping it up with a bumper weekend Haslingden Tesco where you can meet the Imperial Alliance and raise as much as we can for such an important cause that touches too many lives💜

💜 We would like to say the biggest thank you ever to Wendy Howarth the community champion at Bury Tesco for this brilliant donation to Relay For Life Rossendale 💜

We was blown away when collecting the donation yesterday. Their generosity will be a massive help for our upcoming “Turn Tesco Purple” weekend taking place 5th–7th June, where we’ll be raising funds for Cancer Research UK with the amazing Imperial Alliance and spreading awareness in our community.

Support like this really does mean so much to our Relay family. Every donation, raffle prize and act of kindness helps us continue raising vital funds and making our events possible.

📣 **SAVE THE DATE – RELAY FOR LIFE ROSSENDALE 2027** 💜

After careful committee discussion and incorporating your valuable feedback, we are thrilled to announce the official date for Relay For Life Rossendale 2027!

🗓 Saturday 10th July 2027
⏰ 11am – 11pm

Choosing the perfect date for Relay was never going to be an easy process, and we have spent a long time considering potential factors. We avoided the packed calendar of June, which includes exam periods, Father’s Day, and Bacup Carnival. Early July also presents conflicts with major events like the Lytham Festival, which we know has limited team participation previously. We have to stick to the June/July window by working around football fixture lists.

We know this date may not suit everyone but we chose this date to ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to take part, support, volunteer, and enjoy the event with us 💜
We have also taken the decision to trial a 12 hour event after listening to feedback from teams. Hopefully this works out 🤞

Relay For Life is more than just a fundraiser. It’s a day to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and stand together as a community against cancer.

Please mark the date in your diary and help make this event shine in our local community.
