Thank you to everyone who helped out yesterday and made the day a great success also thanks to Darraghs Coaches and the bus driver Paddy McQuillan for getting us there safely and back again.

This week at the Hub everyone had a fantastic day starting off with a lovely tea party for our last session before we break up for the summer. Then we all enjoyed entertainment by Gerald McLaughlin and Trevor Keys who played guitar and sang. We are very grateful for them coming along. We even had a couple of our members singing which was great to see. We would like to thank Fullans Eurospar Rasharkin for donating a tray of delicious sandwiches. A big thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who come along each week and make the hub a great success.

Next week most of our Warm Hub members are going on a day trip. We will be leaving the community centre at 10:30 am and will return around 3:30pm.

Today we had Stephanie and Colleen from Age Friendly and Walking for All. After a short walk, the girls gave a talk on how to stay active within our community and participants were invited to consider training as walk leaders in the hope of forming a weekly walking group in our community to help reduce isolation and keep everyone active. We got a few names for the walk leader training which takes place in Rasharkin Community Centre on Thursday 14th May. The Warm Hub would like to thank Stephanie and Colleen for coming along today it was very informative.

It was all about spring today and interaction between different generations. We had some fantastic children in from St Patrick's and Rasharkin Primary schools. We started off with some of the hub members asking the children questions all based on spring time and then the children decorated plant pots and planted some sunflower seeds with their help.đŸŒģđŸŒģđŸŒģ The children also got small packets of wild flowers seeds to plant at home.

The Warm Hub would like to thank the teachers and classroom assistants for bringing such good mannered and well behaved children along today: they are a credit to both schools.

We will welcome all the Warm Hub members back again next week and hopefully we will have the children from both Primary Schools back again in the Autumn.

This week the group had fun making Easter themed crafts with the ladies designing wreaths while some of the men decorated hanging signs. There was plenty of chatting, laughing and refreshments to be had by everyone.
The Warm Hub would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter and we will see you all again next Thursday 11am - 2pm.

Today was the last day of the watercolour painting course. Thank you so much to Helen Bradbury for inspiring everyone for the last 5 weeks and congratulations to the three ladies whose paintings were voted 1st, 2nd and 3rd of the group. Thank you also to Velma who came to present the prizes. You have all made wonderful progress in the last few weeks and it was difficult to choose a winner from all of your beautiful paintings. Hopefully you will all keep up the painting as you're all very talented. We all appreciate that Joe organised the painting course for us. Everyone involved said it was very relaxing and glad that they took part.
