Ramsgate is embracing its darker side this autumn with the launch of the first Ramsgate Autumn Festival, bringing more than 80 events to the town over ten days. 23 October to 1 November 2026.

Inspired casting by director Steven Soderbergh with his first choice actors Ian McKellen & Michaela Coel in this beautiful comedy-drama. The two excel, and their on-screen chemistry applauded by all critics. McKellen plays a once-famous painter whose children rope in an art forger (Coel) to complete a batch of unfinished works so there is someting to inherit from Dad when he dies. McKellen delivers with typical bravado/expertise alongside Coel, the Queen of underplay - what a match. Excellent!

Ooh, look what we got! We might not have won the programming award we were nominated for, in this nationwide but the Jury deemed us worthy of this. Not bad, considering there are 1600 community cinemas in the UK. Thanks so much to Cinema For All
