RNLI Lifeguards are returning to Thanet beaches this weekend.

On Saturday 23 May, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) beach lifeguards will return their service to Thanet’s beaches, ready to be on watch for the upcoming Bank Holiday and May Half term.

You maybe wondering why we have three lifeboats moored up outside our station today?

The outside boat is Pride of Humber 17-05 on route back to its home station, Humber lifeboat station from Cowes.

The middle boat is our own Tamar class Diamond Jubilee 16-23 looking quite small compared to the Severn class lifeboats on either side.

The inside boat nearest the building is part of the relief fleet, lifeboat Duke of Kent 17-45 which has come from Humber and carries on to Dover on Tuesday.

Delighted to see RNLI crewmen honoured in this moving tribute. Out of the 19 lifeboats requisitioned by the Royal Navy it was only Ramsgate and RNLI Margate lifeboat that were manned by their own crew, and credited with saving over 3600 lives in total.
