Once a month some of our ladies try to get out for a group walk , weather permitting and today was perfect. We took two cars and headed up north to the Point of Ayre; whilst there we did some bird watching/ listening as we strolled along the coastline then drove along the coast to Jurby's 'The Guardhouse' cafe for lunch before returning to Ramsey & Laxey to our respective homes.

Greetings & Wishing a Happy & Healthy Belated New Year to all our followers & WI Members around the globe.
Here are some pictures from this month's meeting . Our guest speakers on Monday were both members of the the Isle of Man 's Guild of Dyers, Spinners & Weavers and they were both called Clare . A few of our ladies had a go at spinning &/or carding ( Ann, you were spinning like a pro ! ) and there were lots of lovely items to be admired. Each month we ask our visiting guest speaker to judge items that our members have brought along which relate to the night's talk; the marks are collated , recorded then at the end of the each year the member with the most points receives a token gift. Everyone who brings an item receives one point then it's 3 , 2 & 1 point respectfully for 1st 2nd & 3rd places. To our fellow members who were absent for personal reasons, you were greatly missed & we hope to see before the month is out xx. February 9th is our next meeting at St Paul's Church Lounge , 7.15 for 7.30pm , our guest will be local historian & author, Andrew Scarffe who will be talking about Trams - Laxey to Ramsey.
