A big thank you to everyone who joined us at Lam Rim this weekend for our **Transforming Problems** retreat. 🙏

It was a lovely weekend of teachings, meditation and discussion, exploring how we can work with the challenges we meet in everyday life.

A special thank you to **Martin Kerrigan and Sara Szwer** for leading the weekend with such warmth and accessibility, and for sharing the teachings in such a practical and relatable way.

Thank you as well to all the volunteers who helped make the weekend possible.

Can you help?
As we celebrate the Centre continuing to thrive and flourish with more and more courses, events and regular activities, we are now in need of additional help to welcome, host and cater for all our lovely visitors!

There are lots of ways to join our wonderful volunteer team. Could you help :
• as a full time resident, taking care of household and hospitality?
• by offering regular or occasional help with hosting day and weekend courses?
• with ad-hoc days / hours support with household and cooking?
• or simply bake and donate a traybake or delicious cake or two?!

Please get in touch if you can help in any way. We hope you can join the amazing team of volunteers at Lam Rim who make the Centre possible!

A full house and full hearts!!

Nothing quite like sharing a few cosy days gathered with some classmates to learn about the Four Seals of Buddhist philosophy.

The past weekend included a school reunion of sorts, as Geshe Dorji Damdul, Geshe Losel and Dechen Rochard had studied at IBD (Institute of Buddhist Dialectics) in India at co-occurring times.

Thanks to the company of several existing Nalanda course students, we also witnessed an expert demonstration of the benefits of engaging in ‘systematic studies’.

Most exciting though is the news that the current cycle for this year’s run of the Nalanda Diploma Course, primarily taught by Geshe Dorji Damdul, has been thoughtfully paused to allow those of us who’ve only just gotten word to catch up and join on. You can find out more via Tibet House https://tibethouse.in/ndc/

Hope you’ve all been having a wonderful Chökor Düchen!

We’ve been blessed with the ideal way to celebrate Buddha’s first teaching with a key topic of today’s retreat delving into the different types of suffering.

Even more fortunate was being a part of Tibet House New Delhi’s live-stream of director Ven. Geshe Dorji Damdul-la giving the Aspirational Bodhisattva Vows.

So hello from all of us in Wales and may your merits be multiplied exponentially!!

No words to describe the previous few days in the presence of Chamtrul Rinpoche and the group of students that gathered here for last weekend’s retreat. Aren’t we all so fortunate that the path out of the slog of samsara involves such magical experiences?!

Thank you thank you thank you to all who contributed, including Joy for coordinating what we discovered was their 15th UK tour. It takes a lot of factors for something like this to come together and yet it all just seemed to fall into our hands.

Rinpoche kindly agreed to return next year so we eagerly await the moment to come around again! 🙏🌞💫

Hill views, twisted trees, local animals and even some well-timed sunset sightings.

Do you know that part of the prayer path at Lam Rim incorporates a public footpath that can be followed in various directions to form some incredible walks in the area?

Solo or with company it can be a lovely way to decompress or discover a mini adventure. There’s even a nearby ancient woodland and connecting route to Offa’s D**e Path!

Happy 91st Birthday His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama!

You may have spotted this photo up in our shrine room from His Holiness’ visit to Lam Rim Wales in 1993, an occasion we will always hold dear.

Today we’ve been celebrating by engaging in a bit of collective karma yoga alongside a Chenrezig puja - complete with the original texts and tunes from the time the late Geshe Damcho-la was in residence (lovingly carried over by dedicated students). If you’d like to join in with similar activities in the future do get in touch.

And may there be many more birthdays of His Holiness to come!
