Happy Birthday Sir David Attenborough!
If you heard the bells at Christchurch, Radyr ringing for a few minutes this morning and wondered why, it was to celebrate Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday! The photo below is the group of us that rang the bells.

Bellringing open day - Saturday 5th July

As part of the Family fun day at Christchurch, Radyr, we will be holding a bellringing open day. Please feel free to come along and find out about bell ringing and perhaps even have a go. We'll be there from 11.00! Look forward to seeing you there!

We were pleased to enter a team in the ringing association 'striking contest' at Sully last Saturday. Whilst we didn't win, everyone tried their best and it was a very pleasant afternoon catching up with people in the sunshine!

Sorry a bit late posting this. However, we rang as planned for VE day on the 8th May. Here's a photo of the band out side the church.

As part of the events to mark 80 years since VE day, bells across the UK will be rung this Thursday evening. The Radyr bellringers will be participating in this by dedicating our ringing this Thursday to the VE day anniversary celebrations.

With less people attending church, there are worries that there will be a shortage of bell ringers.

We've being doing lots of ringing in the run up to Christmas and yesterday evening rang a quarter peal (which is 45 minutes of continuous ringing) for the carol service. I was pleased to conduct it (the first since I was a student in 1994!) and it was the first quarter peal for Tetyana - well done!
