Lots of Harry Potter fun was had at the cubs camp over the weekend while we completed the science badge. We weather was a bit poor but this didn’t matter due to all the rooms at Greater Manchester North HQ. We would definitely recommend it for sleepovers. All the kids had a fab time.

Cubs and beavers were back last night. New sixers and seconders were appointed there positions and we welcomed all the new beavers that have come up. The beavers had some wet fun outside and the cubs later played balloon tennis and the game which is most popular dodgeball. We went round them all and found there favourite games and we will be playing them over the coming weeks in our spare time. It was great to be back and we have a busy lead up to Christmas.

It might be summer but all doesn’t stand still in the scouting world. Programmes are being planned, a scout working camp is happening and a cub sleepover is well on the way of being planned and prepared for. Our young leader is in South Korea and our two youngest leaders have already done an explorer belt exhibition abroad and are off to Switzerland next week. Hope your all enjoying the summer holidays.

The scouts had a trip out tonight to st. Bernadette's 25th Prestwich and Whitefield Scout Group group in whitefield who did a shooting session for us. They learned how to load and shoot the air rifles safely. They learned about and felt different guns, played a team game of darts with a dartboard target and had a go of a zoom lense and a pistol. A big thanks for having us, it was an excellent evening.

The cubs had a bit of a wet hike tonight. Still lots of smiles though and none of them get put off by the rain.
