We are so excited to officially launch Beyond the Surface β€” a friendly online Zoom group for people living with hidden disabilities and chronic illnesses.
Living with a condition that others can't always see can sometimes feel lonely, misunderstood, or isolating. Beyond the Surface is a safe, welcoming space where we can come together, share experiences, support one another, and have honest conversations with people who truly understand.
πŸ’— Our first Zoom meeting will take place on Wednesday 1st July
πŸ•’ Time: To Be Confirmed
I am also delighted to welcome Tracey as co-facilitator of this . Tracey brings warmth, understanding, and lived experience, and I know she will be a wonderful support to everyone who joins us. I'm so pleased to have her alongside me as we begin this journey.
Together, we hope to create a community where people feel heard, valued, and never alone.
Because sometimes the hardest battles are the ones nobody can see.
✨ Real conversations. Real support. Real you.

Last night, we finished our session with a simple but powerful exercise.
Everyone wrote kind words about each other, filling the petals of a flower with encouragement, appreciation, and qualities they see in one another. When I looked at mine, I was genuinely touched.
It's easy to focus on our flaws, doubts, and the things we think we should do better. Yet so often, the people around us see strengths, kindness, resilience, and qualities that we either overlook or take for granted.
Reading words like inspirational, supportive, welcoming, and beautiful soul was a reminder that the impact we have on others isn't always visible to us.
Sometimes we need to borrow the eyes of others to see ourselves more clearly.
A lovely way to end the evening, and a reminder to tell people what we appreciate about them while we have the chance. ❀️

Would you speak to a friend the way you sometimes speak to yourself?
Many of us have an inner critic that quickly points out mistakes, flaws, and things we "should" be doing better. While it may think it's helping, harsh self-talk rarely creates lasting growth. It often creates shame, self-doubt, and exhaustion.
What if you replaced your inner critic with an inner coach?
Instead of: ❌ "I'm not good enough."
Try: βœ… "I'm learning and improving."
Instead of: ❌ "I always mess things up."
Try: βœ… "Mistakes are part of growth."
Your inner coach doesn't ignore challenges. It supports you through them with encouragement, compassion, and perspective.
Remember: You can be a work in progress and a masterpiece at the same time. πŸ’›

πŸ‘‡ Today's challenge: Notice one critical thought you have about yourself and rewrite it as your inner coach would say it.
Share your new empowering statement in the comments and let's inspire each other to practice more self-compassion.🩷

🚨 QUICK CHECK-IN 🚨
Which voice has the mic today? 🎀
πŸ˜’ Negative Inner Voice: β€’ "You're not ready." β€’ "What if you fail?" β€’ "Everyone else is better at this."
πŸ’… Hype Girl Inner Voice: β€’ "You've handled harder things." β€’ "Progress beats perfection." β€’ "You don't need permission to shine."
πŸ‘‡ Be honest:
When your negative inner voice says, "I can't do this," your hype girl inner voice replies.....

Drop your answer in the comments and let's build a thread of hype-girl comebacks for anyone who needs one today. πŸ’–βœ¨
Mine: Negative voice: "What if I mess up?" Hype girl: "What if it works out better than you imagined?" πŸ‘

What if the voice in your head isn't actually yours?
Many of us carry around an inner commentator that can be quick to criticise, compare, doubt, or remind us of every mistake we've ever made. But where did that voice come from? And does it deserve the microphone?
Tonight at Tallie's Talk Group, we're having an honest conversation about the stories we tell ourselves, the beliefs we've picked up along the way, and how we can start replacing self-criticism with self-compassion.
No lectures. No pressure. Just women coming together to share, listen, laugh, reflect, and support one another.
🌸 A warm welcome awaits whether you're a regular or thinking of joining us for the first time.
