The 5th gift of Christmas was for a little girl from Loughborough, who has recently had two open heart surgeries.
We arranged for a chauffeur to pick her up and take her to see the Dick Whittington pantomime at De Montfort Hall.

A big thank you to our friends at De Montfort Hall, who also arranged for her to meet the stars of the panto and treated her like a VIP princess, including giving her a shoutout during the show. 👑

Our 4th gift of Christmas was for 2 little children from Loughborough, who were both born blind. They've already had two lots of surgeries to try and help and they are both severely visually impaired.

Both babies need weekly trips to the Leicester Royal infirmary and this has been happening for two years.

We arranged for them both to receive a visit from Santa, the day before Christmas Eve, so he could drop off some gifts for them, including an IPad and some sensory toys.🎁

Our 3rd Gift of Christmas this year, was another annual visit we do to the retirement village of Sutton Close & Holloway House.

We got together with Quorn Football Club’s Under 9’s girl’s team, to deliver gifts to the residents.🎁

Every year we do this and every year we speak to people who are isolated and alone at Christmas.

If you have an elderly neighbour, why not knock on their door this year and spread some Christmas cheer, like this amazing little team did. 🎄

Our 2nd Gift of Christmas this year, was our annual visit to host a Christmas party at Quorn Orchard care home. This care home cares for people with Dementia & Alzheimer’s.

We have done this one for a number of years and it’s great to see how a little music and a visit from Santa, can really light up the residents day.🎅

It’s that time of year when we give out our gifts of Christmas.

Our first one this year was our annual free Christmas dinner for local elderly people, who live on their own. We fed over 70 guests and enjoyed a singalong with Quorn singer James green.

Each guest also had a little gift from Santa to take home.🎅

A massive thank you to all our volunteer elves who helped on the day who also helped provide transport home.

If you know someone who is on there own this Christmas, why not go and knock on their door to check on them. A little kindness, goes a long way.❤️

Another group of people this year were also presented with an Amanda’s Award, for their amazing fundraising for The WHWW.

Those people are all the members and staff from Barrow-Upon-Soar Conservative Club. These guys have over the last couple of years, raised just over £6000 from raffles and events held at the club, a staggering amount.

We decided to surprise Barrow Conservative Club with a visit recently, so we could present the award to Nathan & Danielle in front of the members. (We had to drag them out of the kitchen, as they were cooking for a full house that night!)

The White Horse Wishing Well has helped a number of people who use the club, so this is why it holds special place in the heart of some members there.

Barrow Conservative Club, thank you to each and every one of you. This money has helped and will help, to bring so many smiles to people faces.

Every year at The WHWW Ball, we give an award to people who have gone to extraordinary lengths to help our charity. One of this year’s awards was to Loughborough Ladies Circle & Charnwood Tangent

The two groups together have for the whole of last year, nominated us as their beneficiary for all their fundraising. Events included raffles, quiz nights, their own Winter Ball and for the month of December in 2024, their band of volunteers took Santa round on his sleigh to all the Charnwood villages to meet children, whilst collecting money.
They did this come rain or shine. We know this, because one of the nights we helped out, it was torrential rain and they carried on anyway.

These two group of ladies raised an amazing £3715.45 over the year and donated it to The White Horse Wishing Well.

We wanted to thank them for such amazing fundraising and we thought, what a better way to do it, than by presenting them with this year’s Amanda’s Award at this year’s ball.

The Amanda’s Award is named after another inspirational woman called Amanda Westell, who sadly passed away after a battle with cancer. We named this award after Amanda, because she did so much for The WHWW, despite going through her own battle.

It seems fitting that an award named after someone so inspirational, is presented to these two groups of amazing women.

Loughborough Ladies & Charnwood Tangent, thank you from all of us and all that you will help with this money raised.❤️

Thank you to everyone who attended our annual Christmas Ball on Friday 21st November. It was one incredible evening!

The night itself raised a staggering £29,232.55, which will be used to help families in the Charnwood area.

The night was also a very special occasion, as we were able to announce that The White Horse Wishing Well has now been made into an official registered charity.

We also were able to inform all our guests on the night that due to the fantastic ticket sales for the event, our fundraising for the last 10 years, had surpassed £250,000.

We would like to thank all our supporters on the night that raised a record amount and thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last 10 years.

We are pleased to announce the date for this year’s ’Charity Christmas Ball’.🎄

After another stunning night at Winstanley House, Leicester last year, where we raised over £20,000, we will be returning again on Friday 21st November 2025.

Tickets are £75 per person or £700 for a table of 10 and can be booked by messaging us through this page, or by emailing [email protected].

This year’s event will be headlined by We Tried Kylie TM with live sax duo Midnight Serenade on arrival.
