I am Swaring - I used to sculpt back in the day, creating copper sculptures and water features. My pieces have been displayed in the award winning Hampton Court Garden Show and both public and private gardens. When my passion for my family overcame my passion for my work I gave this up.
Two years ago I decided to try my hand at painting, and using YouTube tutorials to learn techniques I created a majestic mural of a tree in my hallway. However after 20 or so paintings varying from appalling to downright ugly I almost gave up. Then, the unthinkable happened and in September this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
My cancer is completely treatable and I am 10 days post my second operation. No matter the Grading or Staging or type of cancer the effects are hard both physically and Mentally. So I turned back to my Paint Brushes to help quiet my mind. The picture you are bidding on was completed 5 days post my second op. Now for the cancer facts bit - 1 in 2 people will get cancer. You WILL know someone close to you over your lifetime that will have to fight cancer. A quarter of cancers in the uk are breast cancer. Men and women get breast cancer, Do you need me to go on.. You all know the stats and most of you have your own story that will be similar or worse than mine.
Now what can you do - I am not just begging for money - Yes you can just bid for my painting, You can just Give on my just giving page. - But what else.
I want to inspire you to follow me in helping others - Many charities have suffered this year and money is tight but we can help. Pick a charity that is close to your heart, Pick your skill, you do have one, Your time, an unwanted gift, a service, or make something. Make your own auction and inspire others to give.
