The updated Dowding System display in the Horchurch Wing at the Purfleet Heritage & Military Centre.

As well as re-displaying the original five minute clock from the RAF Hornchurch Ops Room, there is a display of WAAF plotters equipment. Close by is a model of a Chain Home radar tower built by apprentices at Marconi.

We are open every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm up to the end of November.

The latest exhibit in The Hornchurch Wing at the Purfleet Heritage & Military Centre is this fabulous sculpture of a Battle of Britain Polish Pilot by David Thatcher.

This is one of just 10 cast of an original that was gifted to the President of Poland, Dr Karol Nawrocki.

This poignant object is located right next to the Frank Gruszka display.

Many thanks to David for this wonderful gift.
