♻️ Behind the scenes at the recycling centre!

Circle members enjoyed a fascinating trip to the Recycle for Greater Manchester Materials Recovery Facility in Sharston, getting a behind-the-scenes look at what actually happens to our recycling after it leaves our bins.

We had a guided tour of the facility, learning how huge quantities of recycling are sorted and processed, and the technology and machinery involved along the way.

A really interesting and educational visit – we definitely came away knowing a lot more about what happens to our recycling! ♻️

A big thank you to the team at R4GM for welcoming us and showing us around.

Loved our Birthday BBQ Bonanza Party!!

The Hive proved to be the perfect venue, and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Sunshine, great company and plenty of laughter made it a birthday celebration to remember.

Today our volunteer drivers and digital champions took part in Dementia Awareness training delivered by John from Dignifying Dementia. 💠

The session gave our volunteers a better understanding of dementia, the challenges people may face, and simple ways to provide compassionate, person centred support to people living with dementia and their carers.

A huge thank you to John for sharing his knowledge and experience. Investing in training like this helps us ensure our volunteers feel confident and equipped to provide the best possible support to our members.

It was a pleasure to visit the Bury Carers' Hub coffee morning to chat with carers about the digital support available through Circle.

I spoke about our free digital classes and digital home visits, and it was great to be able to help several people with their digital questions and queries while I was there.

Carers do an incredible job supporting others, so it's important that they can access the technology and online services they need with confidence.

We received a warm welcome and are looking forward to working more closely with the Bury Carers Hub in the future. We're hoping this will become a regular opportunity to support local carers with their digital skills and confidence.

It's always wonderful to support local theatre while spending time together and enjoying good company.

A huge smile from one of our Circle members after receiving a refurbished iPhone kindly donated through Bury Council's digital inclusion programme 📱

His previous iPhone had seen better days and was struggling to hold its charge for more than a few hours, making it difficult to stay connected and access the services he relies on.

Thanks to this refurbished device, he can now enjoy a much more reliable phone without the cost of buying a new one.

We're incredibly grateful to Bury Council for helping us tackle digital exclusion and ensuring local residents can stay connected, informed and independent.

We had a special celebration at our Bolton Road Methodist digital class this week as one of our regular attendees marked their birthday! 🎂🎉

While our digital classes are all about building confidence with technology, they're also a great opportunity to meet new people, make friends and be part of a welcoming community.

A huge thank you to Bury Council for their continued support of our digital inclusion work through the donation of refurbished laptops and iPhones.

These devices will be given to local residents who would otherwise struggle to access the technology they need to stay connected, access essential services, develop digital skills and maintain their independence.

By giving devices a second life, this partnership is not only helping people in our community but also reducing electronic waste and supporting sustainability.

Thank you for helping us bridge the digital divide and ensure more people can benefit from the opportunities that technology provides.
