We have been meeting with some of the senior officers over the last week.
As it stands, much of the national policies promoted by Mr Farage is covered by a number of laws and regulation outside of the County, also predetermination may be problematic, this is important as it has the potential to be an issue with such committees as Development Control.
The first Full Council meeting is next week. This is where we find out some more of the intentions and directions the new administration has.

The election results at Lancashire County Council have been unprecedented, with the surge of Reform UK occupying 51 new seats giving a majority of 53.

In addition, the comments from the MP Nigel Farage about interfering with the employment status of members and future members are worrying.
Mr Farage is not the employer; Lancashire County Council is.

Unite@LCC will ensure that members are supported throughout any process inflicted on us, and we will also ensure that the administration abides by the rules around engagement between cllrs and staff.
There are staff who will have to have direct engagement with the administration, it is part of their job, as it was with the previous administration.
We are here to help and support and if you feel worried about what could happen to your role, please contact us via the number on your members card.
Unite Reps at LCC will be meeting soon to look at our options.
