AI companions are becoming increasingly popular with young people, offering conversations with virtual characters designed to feel like genuine friends.

Platforms such as Character.AI, Replika and Snapchat My AI can provide entertainment and creativity, but their human-like interactions can also create important risks.

Our latest guide explores:
• Emotional dependency
• Harmful or unreliable mental health advice
• Oversharing personal information
• Inappropriate or explicit content
• Distorted expectations around real-world relationships
• Subscription and in-app spending pressures

And while most breast cancers don’t come back after treatment, it’s important to know the signs and symptoms in case they do.

Speak to your GP or breast care nurse if you have any new symptoms that:

🌧️For , we’re looking at how colleagues across the ACRE Network are supporting rural communities when adverse weather strikes.

In Somerset, Lauren Giddins leads Thrive Somerset’s village agent network.

When flooding hit at the beginning of this year, Lauren and her village agents played a crucial role in getting practical support to the people and communities most in need, such as those who were older and more vulnerable.

Together, they worked with local partners to ensure nobody was forgotten or left behind.

How confident are you when it comes to checking your breasts for signs of breast cancer?

Almost 1 in 3 women in England (29%) who regularly check their breasts don’t feel confident recognising a change.

That’s why we’re helping more women understand the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, so they know what to look for and where to turn if they notice something unusual.

If you want to make checking your breasts part of your routine, remember TLC:

T – Touch
Get to know how your breasts or chest normally look and feel.

L – Look
Be aware of any changes in appearance, shape or skin.

C – Check
If you notice anything new or unusual, speak to your GP.

There’s no right or wrong way to check — the most important thing is getting to know what’s normal for you and speaking up if something changes.
