Come along and explore our textile story, see the fantastic Textile Wall created by local crafters, have a go at some hands-on activities, and sit down with a brew to share your own memories.

Whether you remember the mills, have family stories to tell, love textiles, or just fancy a good afternoon out — we'd love to see you!

🧶 ATTENTION NIFTY KNITTERS, COOL CROCHETERS, QUIRKY QUILTERS & ALL TEXTILE CRAFTERS! 🧵

This is your FINAL CALL to get your textile square in!

Submissions for ‘Craft a Textile Square’ close on Wednesday 30th September.
We’re looking for 20cm x 20cm (8" x 8") squares made using any textile skill — knitting, crochet, quilting, stitching, weaving, embroidery, felting and more!

Every square will become part of our Textile Wall, celebrating the textile skills that are still alive and well in Kirkham and Wesham.

🧶 Have you spotted our collection points around Kirkham and Wesham, inviting you to craft a textile square? 🧵

We've received our first few squares and we’d love for even more people to get involved!

As part of this year’s Celebrating Kirkham & Wesham’s Textile Heritage event, we’re creating a Textile Wall to showcase the fantastic textile skills that are still alive and well in our towns.

If you knit, crochet, stitch, weave, felt, make lace, work with leather or linen — or have another textile skill — we’d love you to make a 20cm (8 inch) square for our wall.

All ages and skill levels are welcome!

Collection points are in Kirkham Community Centre, Maymans, Kirkham Library and Wesham Co-Op.

Hello everyone!

Just a quick post to say that Kirkham Cultural Connections will be on Kirkham Market Square tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am–2pm.

We’ll have some heritage-inspired crafts and colouring activities for people to drop in and enjoy, and we’ll also be there for a chat if anyone would like to find out more about creative and heritage events happening locally or ways to get involved.

It’s completely free and very relaxed, so if you’re in town please feel free to pop by and say hello!
