A chance to celebrate everyone who participating, supporting, and undertaking research.

Emma's struggle with food began in childhood.

Her journey with an eating disorder has been long and challenging, but it has also been filled with moments of hope and resilience.

When Emma's therapist told her about the EDGI study, she felt a spark of hope. ✨

The study is the UK's largest ever research project into eating disorders. It aims to understand the role that genetics and the environment play in the development of these illnesses.

EDGI UK is one of the many studies you can be part of through Be Part of Research.

We’re supporting the ADAGIO-2 study, exploring new treatments to help manage agitation in people with Alzheimer’s disease.

Agitation can be one of the most challenging symptoms for people living with dementia and their families. This study is testing whether new medications can help reduce distress and improve day-to-day wellbeing.

By focusing on symptoms that matter most to patients and carers, this research could help improve quality of life and support better care.

🧠 Study spotlight: COBALT

We’re supporting the COBALT study, looking at ways to improve treatment for people living with Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease dementia.

These conditions can be complex and challenging, and while current medications can help, researchers are now exploring whether combining treatments could further improve memory, daily functioning, and quality of life.

This study is helping to build the evidence for more effective, personalised care for people living with these types of dementia.

Today marks the start of Eating Disorder Awareness Week.

This year’s theme is ‘community’ — recognising the power of connection, and the vital role that family, friends and supportive networks play in helping someone feel understood and never alone throughout their journey, from seeking help to treatment and beyond.

Research is part of this community too. By taking part, families can help build better understanding and better care for the future.

Researchers at EDGI UK are now exploring how eating disorders affect children and young people, and they’re looking for families who may want to get involved.

A child may be eligible to take part if:

They live in the UK
They are aged 8 or above
They have ever experienced an eating disorder (no formal diagnosis needed)
