The Global Sound Movement (GSM) is an award winning charitable research project, based at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston. We are dedicated to collecting rare and exotic sounds from around the world, enabling artists and music producers to access digital libraries full of unique sonic content, whilst also endeavouring to help those in the communities that we visit by ensuring all o

f our proceeds return to the people that we have worked with. The GSM working process involves travelling to an area of the world that is in need of socioeconomic aid, engaging with community members and local musicians, and working with them to develop unique sample packages comprised of high quality digital instruments, audio loops, and environmental recordings. Our mission is to develop content that represents the identities of the people that we have the privilege to work with, allowing them to benefit from our work whilst encouraging creativity in artistic individuals across the globe. So far in our short history we have produced work from Uganda and Cyprus, and we are currently developing our third sample package from Bali.
