🌞 WHAT A SUMMER IT’S BEEN AT FOXTON! 🌞

As the summer holidays begin to draw to a close, we’ve been looking back at what has been an amazing few weeks at Foxton Youth & Community. 💙

From keeping young people and our wider community active, engaged and connected, it’s been a summer packed full of opportunities, laughter and memories!

🏕️ Our Residential Weekend
A brilliant weekend away filled with team building, new experiences, challenges and plenty of fun!

🍎 4-Week HAF Programme
Four weeks of activities, food, creativity, sport, trips and opportunities for our young people to make new friends and try something different.

🎉 Community Fun Days
Bringing people together, creating spaces for families and our community to have fun, connect and enjoy themselves.

🤝 Our Usual Community Provision
And, of course, our regular youth and community groups have continued throughout the full 6 weeks — providing a safe, welcoming space for people of all ages to meet, socialise and get involved.

A huge thank you to every young person, parent/carer, volunteer, partner organisation, staff member and member of our community who has helped make this summer so special. ❤️

📢 A LITTLE BREAK BEFORE WE GET READY FOR WHAT’S NEXT!

After such a busy summer, we’re going to be closing our youth services for one week to give the team some valuable time to plan, prepare and get the centre ready for the next chapter.

This will give us the opportunity to reflect on everything we’ve achieved, prepare new activities and programmes, get organised behind the scenes and make sure Foxton is ready to continue providing the best possible opportunities and support for our young people and community.

We’ll be back after the week bigger, better and ready to go! 💪

*Please also note our day provision will be going ahead as normal*

Thank you for making Foxton such a brilliant place to be this summer. And please take a look at what to expect from September onwards 👀

Here’s to everything still to come! 🌟

We were delighted to host Rick Henderson, CEO of Homeless Link, and Steve CEO from Emmaus at Foxton today.

We had a good chat about the homelessness work happening across Preston, how we can continue working together across the city, and how this fits with the Government’s plans around homelessness.

Homeless Link represents the sector nationally and works closely with Government, so it was great to hear what’s being discussed and make sure the experiences of people we support in Preston continue to be part of those conversations.

A good reminder of the importance of strong local partnerships and our commitment to supporting people experiencing homelessness across the city.

❤️ One of the things we really value at Foxton is that people come back.

This week alone, we’ve had a number of young people we’ve worked with over the years come back through our doors.

Some came back to celebrate their GCSE results with us 🎓 — and they made us really proud. It was great to see them, catch up, hear what they’re doing next and see how far they’ve come. ❤️

Others have come back because they need a bit of help with their next step — whether that’s putting together a CV, applying for jobs or college, or just figuring out what they want to do next.

We’ve also supported a few young people who have been experiencing homelessness 🏠 and needed help knowing where to turn, as well as others who have taken a wrong turn but are now trying to make different choices and get themselves back on track.

Last week, a group of our young people travelled to Salford to have their say about the future of government funding for youth work. They were awarded the top scores for participation and ideas, which was a fantastic achievement and shows just how much young people have to say when they’re given the opportunity to be heard. 👏

And that’s why we do what we do now — not just for the young people who need us today, but for the next group who will need us to still be here.

If you’ve been through Foxton over the years, come back and let us know how you’re getting on. We’d genuinely love to see you, hear what you’re up to and celebrate the next steps with you.

That’s why we are here.

And we intend to keep being here. ❤️

🌟 Good luck to everyone receiving their GCSE results today! 🌟

Today can bring a whole mix of emotions — excitement, relief, disappointment or uncertainty. Whatever your results, please remember that they do not define you, your hard work or your future. ❤️

If you want to come and celebrate with us, or if you’re not sure what happens next and need someone to talk to, come and see us at Foxton. We’re here for you, whatever your results and whatever you decide to do next.

There are so many different paths to success, and we know you’ll go on to achieve great things in life. Believe in yourself and keep going! 💪✨

📚AND WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY WE HAD YESTERDAY!!

We were delighted to welcome over 100 people to our Children’s Literacy Event, celebrating the 'Year of Literacy' ! 📖❤️

A huge thank you to all our amazing partners who came along, supported the event and helped make it such a brilliant celebration for children, families and our community.

And a special thank you to PNE Community Education Trust for their continued support and partnership. ⚽📚

Together, we’re helping young people read, learn, grow and believe in what they can achieve.** 🌟

🚗💙 A huge thank you to Red Rose Car Club who've raised over an amazing £3000 for Foxton! 💙🚗

What an incredible weekend at Tatton Park where the Red Rose Car Club were taking part in 'Dream Rides' in support of The Foxton and our services.

A massive thank you to Mark and all his friends for giving up their time, bringing along some absolutely stunning cars and, most importantly, helping to raise money and create opportunities for our young people. 🙌

The effort, generosity and commitment you all put in is hugely appreciated. It’s support from fantastic community groups like Red Rose Car Club that helps us continue to make a real difference to young people across Preston. ❤️

Thank you for believing in what we do and for going the extra mile for Foxton’s young people

🚘👏 Red Rose Car Club – you’re absolute legends!
