You can help protect wildlife and wild places across Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside by becoming one of our valued charity members from just £4/month. We’re one of 47 Wildlife Trusts spread across the UK, the Isle of Man and Alderney. We’re Lancashire’s leading local wildlife charity and are dedicated to restoring and protecting wild places and bringing wildlife back to Lancashire, Gre

ater Manchester and North Merseyside; to halt the biodiversity and climate crisis while helping more people experience the joy of nature in their daily lives. We manage 42 of our own nature reserves, and work with local councils and landowners to help look after other local green spaces and important wildlife sites. We speak up for wildlife on planning issues and campaign for nature on a national scale. We bring our local community closer to wildlife, teach people new skills and help them improve their wellbeing.

📢With thanks to funding from The Climate Action Fund, we have opened a new Nature and Wellbeing Hub at Lunt Meadows 🎉

To launch our sessions, we went on an inspiring wellbeing walk on this fascinating Nature Reserve 🥾🦋🦉

Tuning into all 5 senses, the group spotted fluffy greylag goslings, heard the cheery flute-like notes of the blackcap warbler, smelled the fresh aroma of mint, felt the sticky leaves of cleavers and even had a taste of some silverweed (bitter and fuzzy!) 🥬

The group were so immersed taking in all the beauty the reserve has to offer, that they lost all track of time. The 2-hour session flew by. What a great start at our new hub 💚

If you would like to join our Nature and Wellbeing group at Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve, head to the following link to sign up https://www.lancswt.org.uk/our-work/projects/wellbeing-service.

This group is part of Eden’s new three-year ‘Nature: Connection and Recovery’ programme, a UK-wide nature connection and recovery initiative funded by the Climate Action Fund. To find out more, head to:

Volunteering is one of the most effective ways to help protect our local red squirrels, but regular commitments aren't always possible for everyone.

Micro-volunteering can turn small actions into meaningful contributions, it makes supporting conservation simple, flexible, and accessible to all 🧡

Whether you're able to share photographs, raise awareness, or report sightings at https://www.lancswt.org.uk/red-squirrel-sightings-form, every action helps to create a more hopeful future for our treasured woodland friends.
