This week was our busiest Creative Wellbeing session yet - 27 ladies were knitting, crocheting granny squares, crocheting make up bags and keyring cuties, painting up a storm and drawing fine line complex designs- of course I forgot my phone so no evidence 🤣🤣🤣
It is a beautiful session with lifelong Prestonians joining our newest members of the community from Iran, Afghanistan and all over the world 🌍🌎🌏

As requested by Sanctuary Cookalongs participants, we are putting on a Sewing Course at The Foxton off Avenham Lane in Preston on Mondays in June and July so that you can learn how to sew an apron and a bag to carry it in.

Starting on Monday 1st June, experts Salma and Lynn will pass on their skills to you in a fun, relaxed and inclusive environment. We hope that this will lead onto other opportunities for you!

Community lunch provided by Sanctuary Cookalongs from midday.

Another lovely afternoon at St Cuthberts yesterday where our ladies chatted and created, busy with lots of knitting and crochet - some beautiful artworks and a bit of felt work creating a cute fridge magnet ❤️❤️❤️. In June this gets even better when we start our Stitchcraft group on a Wednesday morning too 🧶🪡🎨

The last two weeks have afforded us the delightful opportunity to work with some newly arrived refugee children getting creative, painting and learning each others words for colours ❤️. The mums all got stuck in crocheting and knitting creating slippers, blankets and loofah mitts from all the wool kindly donated from our various community links - joy and relaxation in equal measure! You know you’ve hit the spot when the kids start a spontaneous singalong 😂😂😂

Last Tuesday was another lovely session at St Cuthberts - one of our fabulously talented refugee community members Aki ran a session teaching us to make felt apple coasters, we had water colour painting and both a learners and very proficient knitting and crochet skills groups producing gorgeous work.

Week two of our fabulous Creative Community at St Cuthberts in Fulwood where we are gathering local residents and members of the refugee and asylum seeker community together for an afternoon of creative pastimes. This week we had crocheted shower scrubbies and flowers, lots of ladies improving their granny squares and Aki is going to teach a session next week where we can all make a multipurpose felt apple 🍎 ❤️🧶 One member was so keen to practise her knitting during the week she resorted to using chopsticks 🤣🤣 That’s how enthusiastic this group is!!!

We had a lovely gathering of the Mandala creative friends at Argento Lounge last night for lovely food, catch ups, exchanging cards (if you were organised enough 😳) and a fab Christmas quiz.
Stunned to be in the winning team and very happy with my empty gift basket as a prize 😂😂
Looking forward to the next meet up on Dec 31st at 5:30 - come and join us if you need an early New Years event ❤️🙏❤️
