And it’s the 1st of September!!
How fast has this 1st month flown?
It’s had its up’s and down’s which to be expected but my goodness there has certainly been more up’s!
I feel like majority of things we are fully into the swing of, and we are pretty much on the ball with most things now!
The dogs are happier, healthier and definitely enjoying life more. They are getting out and exploring the world outside of kennels and not just looking at the same four walls.
They are healthier - upto date with flea and worming, all been weighed and on better food and adjusted for their needs.
The kennels itself is looking brighter and cleaner and people can say there is a huge difference to how it was before.
We have attended our first carboot and event, small but lovely. This weekend is the SCAR event and then next weekend is the SOLARIS HUGE event. We’re going to get our name out there and get us KNOWN loudly and proudly!
So, this is where you guys come in! Please if you can donate any prizes suitable for stall games (human or dog!) we have several drop off points in and around kennels and Blackpool. We would be ever so grateful.
Hopefully you guys can come see us there and support all your local small businesses and people alike and you may even win some prizes at stalls or in the dog competitions!
We really hope to see you all soon and thank you for your much needed and amazing support through month number 1! Let’s see what September brings and let’s have a good one!

Silly Sunday!!

🐾 A Wonderful Update on Bud! 🐾
Another update we absolutely cherish and still can’t quite believe happened.
Bud was with us a long, long amount of time, and it truly wasn’t his fault. He was a complicated lad with many triggers and he found it very hard to fit into society.
Then he found Clare.
Clare has dedicated so much to Bud since meeting him. Even when there were hiccups before she took him home, she never wavered and had no intentions of giving up on him.
It’s so fulfilling to see him be a goofball, look relaxed, have a sister who he adores, and just be a "normal" dog enjoying his chicken dinners and stealing his mum's bed—so between him and Eevee, there is no room left!
Homes like Bud's are absolute gold dust and don’t come along often. But they are out there, and it may take time finding them, but it is possible and we couldn’t be any more thankful. ❤️🏡

⚓ Life on Board for Finn! 🐾
It’s been a little while since Finn left us, and what a completely changed boy he is—all for the absolute best!
His kennel days are long gone, now just a shadow in his past that he will never have to visit again. Instead, Finn lives on a boat with his dad, and he has adapted to this unique life as if he has always been there! ⛵
His favourite days are now spent running around at the dog park with his friends, followed by heading home for the most wonderful, cozy snoozes ever. 😴💤
We are so proud of you, Finn, and we just love seeing all the updates from dad showing what mischief you get up to! Keep living your best life, sweet boy. 💙🐾

🐾 Happy Update on Harvey! 🐾
We just had to share a little update on Harvey and how wonderfully he is still doing in his forever home!
He is happier than ever, soaking up his retirement life with his favourite human, and truly couldn’t ask for anything more. Harvey never deserved to spend time in kennels, and we are so grateful to have found someone special to help him enjoy his golden years in comfort and love.
Keep smashing it, little man—you're right where you are supposed to be! 💝🏡

Terrific treat day! 🐾
The dogs all had their yummy natural treats yesterday and they went down a storm! Lots of furry rabbit ears, tracheas, camel skin, and so much more. We love seeing their faces light up and them munching and crunching their way in happiness.
All these treats have been kindly donated in the past week and they are very gratefully received by the puppers. 🦴✨

We are thrilled to announce that Dizzy Dogs Rescue will be attending the upcoming Second Chance Akita Rescue UK (S.C.A.R.) Charity Fun Dog Show!
Come along and join us for a fantastic family-friendly day out supporting Akitas in need—because every dog deserves a second chance!
🌟 Special Highlights:
* Meet the Rescues: Dizzy Dogs Rescue will be attending with some of Second Chance Akita’s wonderful dogs. It’s a lovely opportunity for people to come and meet them, chat with the team, and help these sweet pups find their forever homes!
* Pre-Loved Dog Equipment Stall: We will be running a special stall loaded with pre-loved gear, so be sure to stop by and browse.
* Fun Dog Show & Classes: With 14 fun categories ranging from Puppy classes and Best Rescue to Waggiest Tail and Best Trick (all breeds welcome!), there’s plenty of action for everyone.

We have got so much wonderful news to share with you all today, so grab a cuppa and settle in! ☕✨
* Checking In: Keep your eyes peeled because we’ll be dropping lots of happy update posts today checking in on some of our previously homed dogs to show just how fab they are doing! ❤️
* Toy Trouble: It’s been new toy day here at the kennels, and I made sure to show that squeaky duck who's boss... let's just say now only a single head remains! 🫣😅🦆
* The BIG Shop: Team members Izzy and Danni went on a massive shopping mission yesterday to stock up on lots of yummy foods for my belly and all my friends' bellies. We are all so grateful to be looked after by such an amazing team! 🛒🍖
* A New Nana: Stuart went to visit the wonderful Dotty and took her some flowers to thank her for her overwhelming donation. They ended up talking for hours! We have now officially appointed Dotty not just as our friend, but as an official Nana to all our dogs—she always asks about us, spoils us, and cares for us so much. 💐👵
* Welcome Back, Jet!: Jet is back with us while her dad is on holiday, and she is so happy and giddy to see the staff all over again. It’s so lovely to see how well she looks and how she's glowing—it just shows what a proper home life can truly do for a dog! 🏡💫

Hi everyone, I’m Alfie, and I’m one of the "senior" sanctuary dogs here at the kennels. I wanted to share a little bit of my story with you all today...
💔 My Journey & Heartbreaks
Three years ago, I was returned to rescue when someone went through a doorway at the same time as me. They walked on my blind side (I only have one eye), which startled me. I couldn’t help but growl because I was scared—I couldn’t run away, and I didn't want to bite because that’s just not who I am.
* But they punished my growl and wanted me away 😔.
* Then, the rescue I was being returned to didn’t want me either 🥺.
* Thankfully, the OEH Foundation took me on, and I was loved again—safe, at least. But then, the OEH Foundation was no more, they didn’t hold their promise to me, and I became unwanted yet again.
🏠 Safe at Dizzy Dogs
I was actually one of the reasons the staff at the kennels opened Dizzy Dogs Rescue. They told me they love me and that I am worth everything in the world to keep safe.
They always treat me as their own. I am happy and safe, and they even do the little things like:
* Leaving my light on at night because I'm scared of the dark 💡
* Changing my food bowl to a plastic one because metal ones reflect, distort my view, and make me too scared to eat from them 🥣
* ...and so much more.
The Dizzy Team saved my life after I’ve been let down three huge times in my world, and they constantly remind me that I’ve never done anything wrong. That comforts me... sometimes.
This is my story, and thank you so much for reading. I'm going to go sprawl out in my kennel now and daydream the day away, wondering just what my future is going to look like.

🐾 Meet Gorgeous Harley! 🐾
“Please share this post for Harley and help us find her forever family and home!"

Harley is a stunning Husky cross German Shepherd who has completely stolen our hearts. Originally found as a stray at the pound, she was saved by the wonderful rescue "Loving Homes for Dogs," who then trusted us at Dizzy Dogs Rescue to help house and rehabilitate her.
💖 Her Amazing Journey
When Harley first arrived, she was quite anxious around men and extremely dog-reactive, which occasionally led to lead-nipping/redirection on walks. But look at her now! With time and patience, Harley is officially everyone’s best friend. She is learning to walk on lead so much better, and that redirecting behavior has gone out the window for good—which makes us all so happy 😅!
🌟 All About Harley's Personality:
* Human-Obsessed: She absolutely adores people and lives to be everyone's companion.
* Adventure Seeker: She loves running and has a passion for playing in water (as you can clearly see from her photos!). Just one catch—she is a fussy madam who does not like the rain 😅.
* Bedtime Essential: Despite her super fluffy coat, she loves a nice cozy bed and blankets every night. Important warning: Never give her a stuffed bed, or she will bring Christmas early overnight by ripping it to pieces and spreading the stuffing everywhere!
* Her Favorite Toy: She has a favorite squeaky duck toy that must go to bed with her every single night. 🦆💤
🏡 Finding Her Forever Family
Harley is now ready to take the next big step and find the family she has been waiting for.
📍 Meets are essential and take place at Dizzy Dogs Rescue CIC in Preesall (FY6).
