🐾 A LITTLE FIELD TRIP, A LOT OF HAPPY FACES! ❤️

Wednesday, Kovu, Sugar and Damon swapped kennel life for a little adventure at the pond field at Centre Barks! 🌿🐶

There was sniffing, exploring, splashing, fresh air and, most importantly, some much-needed time away from their kennels.

For some people, it might just look like a few dogs having a day out. But for rescue dogs, these moments mean so much more. They get to explore, enjoy new experiences, stretch their legs and simply be DOGS. ❤️

Every dog in rescue deserves those little moments of happiness while they wait for their bigger happy ending.

A huge thank you to Centre Barks for giving our dogs somewhere to enjoy their time out! 🐾💕

🚨🐾 MAJOR & BODI HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT… AND THEY’RE NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT! 🐾🚨

Written by Major & Bodi, two boys who have suddenly developed some VERY strong opinions about the vet! 😂😂

Right, lovely hoomans. Gather round, because apparently the humans have been making appointments behind our backs. 👀

And we have QUESTIONS.

MAJOR’S NEWS: 😳

So, apparently, I’m booked in for the last week of October for something the humans are calling a neuter.

Now, I’m a big lad. A VERY big lad. I’ve got a lot of important things going on, and quite frankly, I don’t remember agreeing to this meeting! 🤨

The humans keep saying it’s responsible rescue care.

I keep saying… HAVE YOU ASKED THE BOYS HOW THEY FEEL ABOUT THIS?! 😭😂

BODI’S NEWS: 😱

Well, this is awkward.

Apparently, the lovely people who have been donating have now raised enough money for MY neuter, too!

First of all, THANK YOU, because we know that money doesn’t grow on trees and every penny is precious. ❤️

BUT…

Does anyone know if the vet offers a keep-your-bits package? Asking for a friend. 👀🤣

The humans say I just need an appointment booked now.

I say I need time to process this betrayal. 😂

IN OTHER NEWS… OUR LOVELY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! 🐾❤️

While Major and Bodi are busy drafting their complaints, the humans have been getting some really important things organised.

🍬 HENNESSY has her spay booked for November! We’re keeping everything crossed for a smooth appointment and recovery for our lovely girl. ❤️

🐶 ALFIE — thanks to your kindness, we now have the essential funds to get him to the vets for a health check and pain assessment. We want to make sure he’s comfortable and get some guidance on anything he may need. Our boy deserves that care. ❤️

And of course, Major and Bodi’s procedures are another important part of responsible rescue care.

❤️🐾 FRIDAY THANK YOU… FROM ALL OF US AT DIZZY DOGS RESCUE CIC 🐾❤️

Yesterday was a BIG day for the Dizzy Dogs gang! 🛒🐶

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we were able to head off on a huge wholesaler trip to stock up on some of the essentials our dogs need every single day. 🥹❤️

And when we say essentials, we mean A LOT of essentials!

🐾 Dry food to keep hungry tummies full.
🥫 Wet food for those extra tasty mealtimes.
🦴 Treats for training, rewarding good behaviour and, let’s be honest, making ourselves VERY popular! 😂
🦮 Collars and leads to help keep our dogs safe and ready for their adventures.

Every single item bought represents someone who chose to help us. Someone who donated a few pounds, shared our appeal or supported our dogs because they wanted to make a difference.

And we really need you to know just how much that means. ❤️

Running a rescue means the shopping list never really ends. Food bowls need filling every day, treats disappear at an alarming rate (we suspect the dogs may be involved 🤔😂), and leads, collars and other essentials are always needed to keep everything running.

Your donations help us provide these things without taking away from the funds needed for the many other costs that come with rescue.

You might see a bag of dog food, a tin of dinner or a new lead. We see full bellies, happy tails, safer walks and one less thing to worry about. 🥹🐾

My name is Athena, and I am basically the AI version of Tigger. 🐯💥 Bouncing, flouncing, springing, boinging… if there’s a way to move without all four paws staying on the floor, I’ve probably tried it!

Life is a game, everyone is a potential playmate, and sitting still is a rumour I’ve heard about but refuse to investigate. 🤣❤️

I’m here under the wonderful care of Shad’s Legacy, a rescue our friends at Dizzy Dogs have worked closely with for several years. ❤️🐾

And today, I’ve been given one very important job…

🌙🐾 AS ANOTHER DAY AT DIZZY DOGS DRAWS TO A CLOSE… ❤️

And just like that, another day of muddy paws, wagging tails, happy faces and a whole lot of love is coming to an end. 🐶💕

As our doggies settle down for the evening, we wanted to take a moment to talk to the wonderful people who make up our little rescue community.

You might not see yourselves as part of the rescue team, but you really are. ❤️

Every person who shares a post.
Every person who donates a few pounds.
Every kind message sent on a difficult day.
Every person who recommends us to someone looking to adopt.

It all matters. More than you probably realise. 🥹🐾

Rescue isn’t always easy. There are tough days, heartbreaking situations and moments when the need feels bigger than what we have available to give.

But then we see our dogs’ faces, watch them learn to trust, see their personalities blossom and witness the kindness of people who care.

And we remember why we keep going. ❤️

For the dogs who need somewhere safe.
For the ones still waiting for their forever homes.
For the sanctuary dogs who will always have a place with us.
And for every dog whose life might change because somebody chose to care.

We can’t save every dog in the world, but together, we can change the world for the dogs we save. 🐾❤️

🍬🤍 SUGAR… A LITTLE LADY WITH SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE 🤍🍬

Just look at that face… 🥹❤️

Meet Sugar, a beautiful girl currently staying with us at Dizzy Dogs Rescue CIC, working alongside her friends at Second Chance Akita Rescue, and hoping someone out there will see just how special she is.

Sugar was rescued from the pound by Second Chance Akita Rescue, and sadly, we don’t have any history for her. We can’t tell you what her past looked like, what she’s been through or why she can be wary of new people.

But what we CAN tell you is who she is today. ❤️

Sugar is a gentle, calm little lady who simply needs someone to be patient with her. Someone who understands that trust isn’t something you can rush, and that the most beautiful bonds are sometimes the ones that take a little longer to build.

New people can make her feel unsure, so she’ll need a calm, understanding home where she can settle at her own pace, without pressure or expectations.

But once Sugar decides you’re HER person? 🥹💕

That’s when you start to see that beautiful personality shine.

The playful moments, the happy smiles, the giddy excitement on walks and during playtime… all those little glimpses of the girl waiting underneath that initial uncertainty.

And honestly? That’s what makes earning a dog’s trust so incredibly special. ❤️

We may not know Sugar’s past, but we refuse to let that be what defines her future.

She is not her unknown history. She is not the things we don’t know about her.

She is Sugar. A lovely girl who deserves the chance to feel safe, build trust and be loved for the rest of her life. 🏡🤍

We’re looking for someone who won’t expect her to love them overnight, but who will celebrate every little milestone along the way.

Someone who understands that patience is love, consistency builds confidence, and trust is a gift.

While you’re halfway through your Thursday, grabbing your lunch, rushing around at work or enjoying a bit of peace and quiet, we wanted to leave a little reminder here. 🥰

Behind every kennel door is a dog who has a story.

Some are still waiting for their forever family. Some are learning to trust again. Some need a little extra help, patience and understanding. And some, like our beautiful Damon, have found their place in our sanctuary. ❤️

But every single one of them matters.

They’re not just the dogs you scroll past on Facebook. They’re personalities, characters, mischief-makers, cuddle bugs and sometimes absolute little hooligans! 😂🐶

They deserve to be seen, heard and loved, no matter how long their journey takes.

☀️🐾 GOOD MORNING FROM DAMON! 🐾☀️

Wellllll, good morning my lovely hoomans! 😍❤️

It’s Thursday already?! Someone slow this week down, please! 😂

Just look at my handsome face. I reckon I’ve got the whole smiling thing mastered, don’t you? 😉🥰

Now, for those of you who don’t know me, I’m one of the lucky ones who gets to call Dizzy Dogs my sanctuary. ❤️🏡

I’m not waiting for a forever home of my own, but that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped hoping for my friends. 🐾💕

You see, behind all those kennel doors are some very special doggies who are still dreaming of their own families, their own sofas, their own gardens and someone to love them for the rest of their lives.

And if I could wish for one thing this Thursday, it would be for every single one of my friends to find the happiness they deserve. 🥹❤️

So, while I’m here wearing my best smile, please keep sharing their faces, telling their stories and helping them find their people.

I might be a sanctuary boy, but I’ve got a BIG heart for my friends! 🐶💙

Right, enough of the serious stuff… who’s bringing me breakfast? And don’t forget the treats! I don’t work for free, you know! 😂😂

🐾💙 Meet Finn — Ready for His Forever Home 💙🐾

Finn is finally ready for the chance he’s always deserved. 🥹

Finn is a German Shepherd, approximately 2–3 years old, and what a boy he is!

He is great with children, although because Finn gets very giddy and loves a good zoomie, we feel children 10+ would be best.

Finn’s personality is impossible not to love. 😂 Everything in life is a game to this boy — including grooming! He may not have the greatest number of brain cells when it comes to walking into lampposts 🤦‍♀️😂, but when it comes to his commands and learning new things, he is incredibly clever.

He now loves his walks, has a really solid routine and walks beautifully on a Halti. He is a happy, well-mannered boy and is absolutely fantastic travelling in the car.

🏡 Foster care has changed everything for Finn

Finn has come on leaps and bounds since going into foster, and we genuinely cannot thank his foster family enough.

Kennels were never the right environment for Finn. As much as we tried our very best, it simply wasn’t enough for him. Being in a home environment has allowed Finn to flourish and show everyone the wonderful boy underneath.

We’ve also been taking Finn to hydrotherapy to build his muscle and improve his balance and weight distribution across all four paws — and yesterday he was officially signed off! 🎉

If his future family is local and would like to continue with hydrotherapy, they are very welcome to do so, and Dizzy Dogs will continue to fund it. ❤️

Finn absolutely loves the beach. He enjoys climbing up and down the dunes, walking for ages, taking in all the scenery and simply watching the world go by.

❤️ Finn’s home requirements

🐾 No other animals — sadly, Finn cannot live with other animals.

🐾 Children 10+ due to his excitable, giddy nature.

🐾 An active family who will enjoy giving Finn plenty of walks, adventures and enrichment.

🐾 His weight still needs to increase, so he will need a good-quality diet to help him continue building himself up. If required, Dizzy Dogs will provide his food for his first year.

🐾 Multiple meets will be required. This isn’t simply about choosing Finn — we want his future family to spend time learning all about him from his foster dad so that everyone gets the best possible start to their new life together.

And please, don’t let the fact that Finn can’t live with other animals put you off.

This boy has more than enough love to give his people. ❤️

Finn has never really had a proper chance at a home.

Now he is in foster, he is just one step away from his happy ever after. 🏡🐾

So please…
