Well once again the people of Poulton and the surrounding area have come up trumps today at our Easter collection for the Samaritan’s!!!
Another brilliant collection and lovely to chat with so many people!!
The Easter Bunny said hello to so many children and we shared Easter sweets.

We will be collecting on Easter Saturday 4th April outside Booths to support the Samaritans!!!
This organisation has never been more needed than over the past few years when so many people are facing so many challenges!!!

The wine tasting charity evening held at the Shovels, Hambleton on Friday 27th March was a roaring succes!!!!
With the help of all those who bought tickets and attended, Poulton Rotary raised over £1000 for Brian House Children’s hospice.
A cause we know is close to all our hearts♥️🙏
Everyone had a wonderful time!!! And we would like to thank everyone who helped us raise this fantastic amount and let’s not forget the Shovels and all their amazing staff who let us use their premises and helped the night be a resounding success.
Thank you to everyone involved!!! 🙏♥️

Generators For Ukraine - Appeal
As you will have gathered from the news, there is a desperate need for generators to alleviate the suffering of the civilian population.
Cumbria aid for Ukraine, based near Penrith, have a small lorry going out to Ukraine on the 8th of February and we urgently would like a few more generators to fill this load. We also have a much larger lorry going out in midMarch.
Last year brought to our attention the fact that there is considerable support in District for providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine, when new funded an Ambulance for Ukraine.
I am wondering therefore, if there is continued support in the District to facilitate the collection of generators [whether working or not] from around the district and get them to Cumbria Aid Ukraine (Nr Penrith) by either of the above 2 dates. We in Appleby have many club members who regularly travel around our District, so collection-transport should not be too much of an issue.
If required, I would undertake to coordinate transport and ask that if anyone had access to a generator and were prepared to donate it, we could collect it and get to Cumbria Aid Ukraine. Thanking you in anticipation,

Small Grants for Local Community, Voluntary and Charities available!!!

Dear Poulton Community, Voluntary organisations/Charities……
Over the past 76 years, since our formation, Poulton Rotary has been supporting our local community.
Whether that has been physical or financial; from road marshalling to funding a school library or collecting for Brian House, NW Air Ambulance, RNLI, Blood Bikers and many other charities. WE HAVE BEEN THERE FOR YOU.
Of course, None of this is possible without the more than generous support you, the people of Poulton and the surrounding areas, have given us over the years.
We recognise that there are many small community focussed organisations and charities locally, that rely on donations to survive.
Poulton Rotary has some limited funds available and would like to invite these local groups to apply for a grant, up to a maximum of £250.
Main Criteria:
• You receive no local or national government funding
• Your organisation or charity relies totally on donations to survive
• Your focus is community driven
• You are local to Poulton and its’ immediate surrounding areas.
If you wish to apply, please email and request an application form from [email protected]
Applications close at the end of February.
Poulton Rotary will review all applications, and subject to fund availability, provide grants as applicable.

Poulton Rotary volunteers will be back in Teanlowe tomorrow from 10 to 4pm with our final Christmas collection day for this year. We are collecting for local charities this year and 100% of all we collect goes to them.
