We want to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has been part of our workshops and events over the last five years 💛

From neurodiversity and communication, to s*x and relationships, it has been so special to share these sessions with you and explore important topics together.

And to everyone who joined our social events, thank you for bringing so much warmth, fun and energy every time 💫

Everyone has the right to meet new people and explore friendships and relationships in a safe and supported way.

That has always been at the heart of Nice 2 Meet Ya 💛

As you continue to meet new people, staying safe is really important.

⌛ Take your time
🛟 Stay safe
🗣️ Talk to someone you trust if you have any worries
🤗 And most importantly, be yourself

Remember, it is OK to ask that your social and relationship needs are considered as part of your support needs assessments.

You can ask to be supported to achieve outcomes that matter to you.

You should not be excluded from friendships and relationships because of a disability or support need.

Relationships and social connections can be considered as part of your needs assessment, and you can speak to your social worker or care provider if this is important to you.

The council could include support like:

👥 Help accessing social activities
🤝 Support to build and maintain relationships or friendships
💬 Assistance with communication or confidence
🏡 Supported living arrangements that enable social contact and do not exclude you or stop you from engaging and participating in friendships and relationships

We know there is a lot going on in the world right now, and it can feel like a lot at times.

It’s not always easy to make sense of everything, especially when things feel uncertain.

One thing we do know is how important connection is.

Even though we are all different, we often have more in common than we might first think. Taking the time to understand each other and show kindness can make a real difference.

We want to say how sorry we are to be closing Nice 2 Meet Ya.

Despite our very best efforts to secure the funding needed to remain open and run safely, we haven’t been able to continue.

Over the last five years, we have loved meeting and getting to know so many amazing people, and supporting you to explore friendships and relationships in a safe and supported way.

Over that time, we’ve supported more than 150 individuals through 1:1 introductions, social meet ups and workshops, and it’s been so special to see lots of friendships and connections grow.

We’ve seen friendships form, engagements happen, and even some weddings along the way. 💍

Together, we’ve created so many special moments and core memories that we will always hold onto 💛

We are absolutely delighted for everyone who has built meaningful and lasting connections, and it has meant so much to be part of your stories.

We’re sorry to share that Nice 2 Meet Ya will soon be closing.

Our services will close on 31 March 2026.

This includes our friendship and relationship matching service, as well as our social events and workshops.

This is due to ongoing restrictions and delays with core funding to run safely, along with staff shortages.

We want to say a huge thank you to our members and everyone who has supported Nice 2 Meet Ya over the years.

The friendships, connections and kindness in our community have meant so much to us 💛

Galentine’s Day is a lovely excuse to celebrate friendship, especially the brilliant women in our lives.

At Nice 2 Meet Ya, friendship is at the heart of what we do. Having people who understand you and share life’s ups and downs can make such a difference.
