A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN🎄
This is the most wonderful time of the year. We have just returned from our annual trip to meet Santa in Lapland and are still buzzing from the excitement of the day and the feedback we have received. Over 80 deserving children joined us on the flight, each with at least one parent or carer and from the moment they arrived at Belfast International airport, to be met by the magnificent The Choir Studio from Newry, which is now such an integral part of the day, the magic began.
Our day in Lapland is made up of so many moving parts and we could not possibly do what we do without the unwavering support of TUI and the staff in all the various departments of the airport here and in Rovaniemi and the doctors and nurses of the various hospital Trusts.
The general consensus of the feedback we have received is that we ticked every box and fulfilled every objective. We wanted the day to be special, to create memories which will last a lifetime and that seems to been achieved.
The fact that just a few months ago, we were able to take 20 children, with a parent or carer to Disneyland, Paris means that this year has been an unqualified success. As long as the funds are available, our objective is to make these two trips an annual event.
We are launching a fresh initiative for 2026, inviting supporters to join the ‘Friends of the Lapland Trust’, pledging possibly £5 or £10 per month…please look out for details on our various social media platforms.
So, as 2025 slips quietly in to the background, we are already planning for 2026.
On behalf of our entire team, we would like to wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas…we can’t wait to build on what we have achieved this year and do even more next year for these very special children.
