We would like to thank everyone for their continued support over the years.

Portsoy Toddlers has now closed indefinitely. We are very grateful to all the families, volunteers, and community members who supported the group and helped make it a welcoming place for local children and parents.

Following the closure of the group, the remaining funds have been distributed to continue benefiting children and families within the Portsoy community.

Around 20% of the remaining funds were used to cover the hall cost for one year for the new Home-Start sessions in Portsoy. This was to help the group get established and ensure local babies, toddlers, and families can continue to benefit from sessions both in the near and furthering future.

The remaining 80% of the funds (£2295) has been passed to the Portsoy School Parent Council to ensure the funds continue to benefit children in the Portsoy community and that funds stay in a Portsoy group.

Please note that this page will close/be inactive(won't be manned to answer messages) in about two weeks and any updates about Wednesday's toddler group will be shared on the Home-Start North East Aberdeenshire

We’ve had a really positive response from the community and have therefore decided to set a closing date for applications. The closing date will be Tuesday 27th January.

We also wanted to let everyone know that our Toddlers Facebook group will be closing. All future updates and information about the Wednesday baby, toddler and parent sessions in Portsoy will be shared via the Home-Start North East Aberdeenshire , which can be followed for updates and support.

We would like to thank the whole community for their incredible support over the years, including (but not limited to) the Institute Hall Committee, Mini Music Makers, Portsoy 75 Club and Portsoy Thrift Shop. Your support over the many years of Toddlers has meant so much to us.

Home-Start is really looking forward to making new connections and partnerships with other organisations within town as well as continuing to support families in and around Portsoy.

We’re delighted to share that Home-Start sessions will begin on Wednesday 4th February at 10am and will run during term time.

Home-Start volunteers are currently completing their training to ensure Portsoy Home-Start can support parents and carers as fully as possible. We are very lucky and grateful to welcome two new Home-Start volunteers in the Portsoy community (Joyce and Caroline) who bring plenty of experience in early child development from working in nurseries.

🎶📚 Bookbug is coming to Portsoy! 📚🎶
Join us on Friday 26th September at 10:15am at the Well Cafe in the Portsoy Church Centre for a fun-filled Bookbug session! There’ll be songs, rhymes, and a story—perfect for little ones aged 0-5 years (and their grown-ups).
No booking necessary - just come along, sing, play, and make some lovely memories together! 🐞✨

Good News for Portsoy Families!

Homestart has kindly offered their support to ensure that parents, babies, and toddlers would be able to find support in Portsoy and have place to explore and play after the Portsoy Toddlers ceases to exist. With Homestart running the sessions, there’s no longer a need to rely on finding new committee members, as they already have their own structure and fundraising in place.

All that’s needed now are a few local volunteers to help at the sessions—just 2–3 hours every week or every second week. Homestart will also provide training opportunities, including food hygiene and Bookbug training, to support volunteers.

If we can gather a few volunteers, this will be a fantastic opportunity not only to keep toddler sessions in Portsoy, but also to bring back Bookbug and create a welcoming hub for parents. This space could offer advice and support on everyday challenges such as finances, mental health, and raising little ones.
