Meet the Team: Gaby 🌟

Today we're celebrating a very special milestone as our Registered Manager, Gaby, marks an incredible 7 years with Right at Home Portsmouth! So we thought we would re-introduce her🎉

Gaby joined us in 2019 as a Care Coordinator, bringing with experience in the care sector and a genuine passion for supporting others. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to delivering outstanding care, she progressed into the role of Registered Manager, where she now leads our team with compassion, professionalism, and determination.

As if celebrating 7 years wasn't enough, Gaby has also recently achieved her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care – a fantastic accomplishment that reflects her commitment to both personal and professional development. 📚👏

Those who know Gaby will know she is passionate about ensuring our clients receive the highest quality care possible while supporting our team to grow and thrive. Her leadership, knowledge, and dedication make a real difference every single day.

💙 Carers Week 2026 💙

This week marks Carers Week 2026, and this year's theme is "Building Carer Friendly Communities."

The campaign aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by unpaid carers and encourages communities, healthcare providers, employers, and local organisations to better recognise, understand, and support the vital role they play.

At Right at Home Portsmouth, we're also taking this opportunity to celebrate our incredible care team. Every day, they provide so much more than practical support. They offer companionship, reassurance, dignity, kindness, and a friendly face to the people they support.

Care is about people, connection, and community. Whether someone is a professional carer or an unpaid family carer, their contribution helps others to live safely, independently, and with dignity.

Ahead of the Gala at Portchester Castle this weekend, we thought we'd share this wonderful piece of artwork created by our talented client, EP. ❤️🏰

EP is a man of many talents, having written a novel, created various radio plays, and possessing a real gift for drawing. He recently shared this fantastic sketch of Portchester Castle, the beautiful venue hosting this weekend's Portchester Gala.

We love celebrating the talents, achievements, and creativity of the people we support, and EP's artwork is a perfect example of the incredible skills and passions that continue to shine.

🌞 WHAT'S ON IN PORTSMOUTH THIS JUNE 🌞

There are lots of fantastic events taking place across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas this month, from community celebrations and local markets to historical events and family days out.

This weekend, Portsmouth will be hosting both Portsmouth Pride and the Southwick Revival, which are expected to attract large numbers of visitors. If you're planning to travel around the city or surrounding areas, please allow extra time for your journey and be mindful of increased traffic and road closures.

While the temperatures soared last week, our amazing clients and caregivers still found safe ways to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. ☀️

Janine and MR enjoyed a lovely trip to Southsea Promenade, sporting their sunnies and taking in the beautiful coastal views. 😎🌊

Karen and JB headed out for a gentle walk, stopping to admire some colourful flowers along the way. 🌸

And JMac was ready for the sunshine in her fabulous cowboy hat, keeping cool and protected while enjoying the warmer weather. 🤠☀️

Whether it's a walk by the seafront, enjoying nature, or simply spending time outdoors with a friendly face, these moments can make such a positive difference to wellbeing.

Of course, during the heatwave, we made sure everyone stayed hydrated, took regular breaks in the shade, and enjoyed the sunshine safely.

Recently, our wonderful CareGiver Agata supported WG in arranging a trip to the hairdressers—something she had been thinking about for a while.

With a bit of encouragement and thoughtful planning, everything came together beautifully… and the result speaks for itself 💇‍♀️

WG was absolutely delighted with her new hair, and moments like this are what it’s all about: feeling like yourself, maintaining routines, and enjoying the things that bring confidence and happiness.
