Are you aged 16-25 living with a rare bone marrow failure condition, or know someone who is?
We are working with The Aplastic Anaemia Trust who have worked with young people living with rare bone marrow failure conditions and Dr Catarina, a Clinical Psychologist to create a space where you can come together to talk honestly about stress, identity and uncertainty, without pressure or judgement. Whether this be surrounding treatment, appointments, education and career changes or any aspect that is causing you concern, this support group will be here for you.
The AAT are holding a taster session on 16th June 6-7pm before they commence a 6 week support group on 25th June.
If you would like to sign up for the taster and/or group sessions, or would like more information, please visit https://www.theaat.org.uk/Pages/Events/Category/events?Take=5

From the Scottish Borders to the Shetland Islands, and everywhere in between.

We are working with The Aplastic Anaemia Trust who are holding their first online chat for everyone affected by a rare bone marrow failure condition who is living in Scotland.

We understand that living in rural areas of the country can make it difficult for patients to come together to meet people living through similar experiences. Therefore there will be an online chat where you can meet others living in Scotland who are also affected by rare bone marrow failure conditions.

Please join The AAT Support & Outreach Coordinator, Linzi online on 17th June at 6:30pm by registering for the event here https://www.theaat.org.uk/Event/scotland-online-chat

It's World Blood Cancer Day ❤ and today we think about how we can support those living with these diseases that have such a huge effect on both those living with them and their friends and families. Here are a few ideas on how you can help:

🎗 Consider stem cell donation - it could literally save lives! For more information, visit blood.co.uk/stem-cell-donor-registry/donating-stem-cells
🎗 Fundraise for Fanconi Hope! The money you raise will help to fund life-changing research and support families living with Fanconi Anaemia. You could do a sponsored run, host a coffee morning, or even do a sponsored skydive!
🎗 Raise awareness by wearing a cancer ribbon, sharing stories, and posting on social media in support of organisations like Fanconi Hope, or projects like the Better Together Campaign

There's still time to catch the wonderful Katie Carr at one of her book launch events! Katie is our Head Communications Volunteer, and we're delighted for her that she's now published her second book, 'Thundery at Times', detailing her own story after her brother Toby passed away from Fanconi Anaemia in 2022, aged 40. Her first book, 'Moderate Becoming Good Later', was begun by Toby before his passing, and was later finished and published by Katie at his request.
