Scouting offers fun, challenge and everyday adventure to 400,000 girls and boys across the UK. Offering over 200 different activities from abseiling and archery to drama, street sports and water zorbing, Scouting helps 6-25 year olds grow in confidence, achieve their full potential and become active members of their communities. This is only possible through the efforts of 100,000 volunteers who a

lso enjoy the fun and friendship of Scouting. Trusted by nearly a million parents each week, the movement welcomes members from all backgrounds, faiths and cultures. Special emphasis is placed on bringing the Scouting programme to young people who currently do not benefit, particularly those in inner cities, those in rural areas and other disadvantaged groups. The Scout Association is a registered charity in the UK and part of a worldwide movement of 31 million Scouts, working for peace and global friendship.

⛺ Camp Nexus 2026: That’s a wrap! ⛺

It’s been one week since the tents came down, the bags were packed, and Camp Nexus came to a close. We’ve finally caught up on our sleep, but we are still buzzing from an incredible weekend!

A massive THANK YOU to all the amazing young people who brought so much energy, and an even bigger shoutout to our phenomenal leaders and volunteers. From running activities and helping to keep things moving smoothly behind the scenes, you made this camp unforgettable.

Memories were made, new skills were learned, and friendships were forged. Until next time! ⚜️✨

Volunteers’ Week Thank You – City of Portsmouth Scouts

As we celebrate Volunteers’ Week, I want to extend my deepest thanks to every volunteer across the District.

Your time, dedication, energy, and kindness make an incredible difference to the lives of young people throughout our district. Whether you lead weekly meetings, organize events, support behind the scenes, manage administration, help with fundraising, maintain equipment, or offer a helping hand whenever needed, your contribution is invaluable.

Because of your commitment, young people have opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence, make lifelong friendships, and experience adventures they will never forget. You inspire, encourage, and support them every step of the way.

Scouting simply would not be possible without volunteers like you. Your passion and generosity help create a stronger, more vibrant Scouting community across Portsmouth, and I am incredibly grateful for everything you do.

Thank you for giving your time, sharing your talents, and making a positive impact on so many lives. During Volunteers’ Week and throughout the year, please know that your efforts are seen, appreciated, and celebrated.

Our incredible activities team has been absolutely smashing it lately. They’ve been out and about non-stop, delivering serious thrills and high-energy skills, including:

There is zero downtime for this team, because they are packing up and heading right back out this weekend for the epic Camp Nexus! 🙌

The sun has set on our St. George’s Day celebration at Governor’s Green, and we are still buzzing from the energy! From the first arrow fired to the last bounce on the inflatables, it has been a day to remember.

The gates are open, the sun is shining, and our St. George’s Day Celebration is officially underway!

If you’re heading down to join us, keep an eye out for this entrance, it’s your gateway to a day packed with adventure. From our youngest Squirrels to our Network members, the energy is already incredible.

Behind the Scenes: Planning the Fun! 📋🎉

Ever wonder how our events come to life? Last night, our dedicated Activities Team gathered for a collaborative planning session to make the coming months unforgettable.

We covered a lot of ground, from dreaming up new activities you’ve been asking for to ironing out the details for our upcoming major events. Beyond the spreadsheets and calendars, it was a wonderful night of "chit-chat" and team bonding. We believe that a connected team creates the best experiences for our community!
