Johore Bahru 8390 is a Freemasons lodge which meets at the Cosham Masonic centre in Portsmouth. Our members are men from a diverse range of backgrounds and ages ranging from their early twenties to late eighties. Our Regular meetings take place on a Saturday attracting Joining members and new Candidates who prefer a weekend meeting avoiding the pressure of a weekday early evening start time. The m
eetings are friendly and dining takes place earlier than in most other lodges for a relaxed festive board and after proceedings in the bar. Other social occasions for our members include visits with family and friends to local restaurants for curry and other cuisines and a breakfast club for meet ups in the months the lodge doesn’t meet. Regular zoom meetings provide additional contact with our members and friends throughout the world. Johore Bahru was consecrated in 1972, the daughter lodge of Johore Royal Lodge in Singapore. Our founder members being mainly dockyard workers and Naval personnel on their return to Portsmouth from Johore Royal. Today our members are from all walks of life, our Masonic journey in Johore Bahru allows men to create friendships, enjoy social gatherings, learn communication skills, self improvement and confidence that lasts a lifetime.
